* ArtisticLicensePaleontology: Zigzagged. Adams seems to have a passing knowledge of paleontology, and gets a few things right, including the correct spelling of T. rex, and the portrayal of neanderthals as intelligent and human, but still manages to make some common anatomical errors in the illustrations. And then there's Primus. Just Primus.

->"Really, the plot of the series would make a lot more sense if it were a porno. People show up out of nowhere, get physical for the most bizarre, tenuous reasons and then cut to other scenes at unconnected times where it all happens again with different configurations of people."

Batman: Odyssey is a Franchise/Batman miniseries drawn by legendary illustrator Neal Adams, one of the defining artists of Creator/DCComics. On the downside, it is also written by Neal Adams, author of the legendarily execrable Skateman. His second opus sets out to lampoon Batman in all his incarnations (both Silver and Modern Age), Crisis Crossovers, homoeroticism in comics, the comics industry as a whole, people who read comic books, good taste, and perhaps sanity itself.

Over drinks (really), a nude Bruce Wayne relates 'a story' to the reader, seated BehindTheBlack. The tale he spins is meandering and bizarre even by comic-book standards, but eventually coalesces into Batman traveling BeneathTheEarth to battle a deadly new enemy, save Talia Al-Ghul, and solve an ancient riddle.

The writing and plot are simply weird in every way, and as such the comic has developed a following to track the insanity of it all.

* CoversAlwaysLie: The cover (see page image) shows Batman riding what appears to be a badly-drawn pterodactyl. This never happens anywhere in the comic. There are pterosaur-like creatures in the underworld, but they look nothing like this.
