* William Pitt the Elder, 1st Earl of Chatham. Undoubtedly one of the greatest and most brilliant of Britain's Prime Ministers, was also unfortunately afflicted with some kind of mental disease, possibly bipolar disorder. Was noted as being highly strung even in an age when dramatic displays where expected of politicians, and frequently butted heads with George III (see above). His final speech was a beautiful piece of rhetoric, yet so disconnected with reality it appeared he believed the American Revolution (whose initial cause he had earlier defended) was some French plot. Then came the Duke of Richmond's reply, and so Chatham rose to speak again...and dropped of an apoplectic fit, dying about a month later.

* Chris Martin of Music/{{Coldplay}} comes across this way; he made up two characters named "Mylo" and "Xyloto", he gets wacky during live performances, and some fans do not have the even slightest idea what he is talking about in some of his interviews. Furthermore, a lot of the band's songs have WordSaladLyrics and the music video to "Paradise" is strange.

[[AC:Game Directors]]
* Creative director Creator/TaroYoko, known for the ''Franchise/{{Drakengard}}'' franchise, has built quite the reputation over the fact of just how much of an odd duck director he is. Even those close to him describe him as both iconoclastic and a loose cannon. Unsurprisingly, this trait carries over into his games where MindScrew and associated tropes are just another [[ButForMeItWasTuesday Tuesday]].

* Deceased Mob Boss Vincent "The Chin" Gigante pretended to be this for decades to avoid prosecution. He was seen wandering around Greenwich Village in a bathrobe and slippers looking lost and often peeing in the streets. This and other antics led the press to christen him "The OddFather"

* ''Geek Juice Media'' founder Alex Jowski: There are a number of weird and crazy stories involving him, most famously the time he slept with a homeless girl, and his fellow site-members often joke about him having hostages in his basement.

** Similarly, the batty and bizarre Rudolf Hess. Hess ended up the Deputy Fuhrer, but his interests were apparently in organic gardening, astrology, and aeronautics among other bizarre ideas (including freaking homeopathy) that presumably only connected in Hess' own mind. He is most notable for, right in the middle of World War II, flying into Scotland and thinking he could bargain for peace only to end up arrested. The fact he looked like a straight laced and boring politician only makes the contrast more odd and potentially amusing.

* Creator/RobertCrumb: Draws weird comics where he fulfills his perverted sexual dreams, often with antropomorphic characters and comicbook creatures. In real life he enjoys having piggy back rides on the back of strong women. But when you see the documentary made about his life, "Crumb" (1994) you quickly realize he is actually the most sane member of his entire family!
