Lews Therin Telamon was the incarnation of the Dragon during the War of Power. He was the leader of the forces of Light and was well-respected all over the world. He was as strong in the Power as it is possible to be and was the "First Among Servants." Though he was known for a long-running romantic liaison with Mierin Eronaile, the true love of his life, his eventual wife and the mother of his children, was Ilyena Moerelle Dalisar, called "Sunhair" for her [[HeroesWantRedheads red]]-and-[[HairOfGoldHeartOfGold gold]] tresses.

* DistaffCounterpart: According to [[WordOfGod Robert Jordan's statements at a convention]] and the book ''The Origins of the Wheel of Time'', she's the one who takes up the savior role instead of the Dragon in some Ages when it's a female ChosenOne that's called for.

* FantasticRacism: He despised Aes Sedai. Granted this was because he found out the one that was advising him was trying to use him as a puppet king for the White Tower. He was so angry he tried to wipe them all out. And while he did fail in that, his hatred of them has bled over into the world for centuries.

* BadassInCharge: Was an extremely high ranking official, including as TheArchmage and as a political officer in his own right, including as the High Seat of the Hall of Servants.

* DistaffCounterpart: Has a personality very similar to Mat's. Fond of swearing, drinking, eyeing up those they find attractive in public, and not being nobility. [[spoiler:Also, over the course of the story, both of them lose that last one, and not of their own choice.]]

Birgitte Silverbow is the heroine of many hundreds of gleeman's tales and legends. Like many of the great heroes of the Wheel of Time, she has been "spun out" into the Pattern many times, taking a different name but is always an archer and always falls for fellow Hero Gaidal Cain. When not being woven into the Pattern, or fighting in spectral form, she and all the other heroes of the Wheel reside in Tel'aran'rhiod, it is from here that she chooses to lend aid to Nynaeve and Elayne.

* BadassGrandpa: Or at least assumed to be old, since he is the only Hero noted as having gray hair.
