* RetCon: The nineties saw Blade growing up in Brooklyn, when before he had been British. Because all Marvel heroes have to be somehow American. (Or, more likely, because Blade was played in movies by Wesley Snipes and not Idris Elba...)
** The Guggenheim run made a few changs to his backstory, mwny of which were incredibly unpopular and tend to not be acknowledged by either [[FanonDiscontinuity fans]] or writers.

* VillainousValor: One of the more positive traits he shows time to time such as in ''ComicBook/FearItself'' when the Hulk was transformed into Nul the Breaker of Worlds and rampaged over Romania, Dracula and his armies attempted one last stand after throwing every possible measure they could find, knowing full well they couldn't possibly come out alive against such beast.

!!Janus Dracula

* {{Dhampyr}}: His mother was a normal human while his father was the King of Vampires.
%%* OurAngelsAreDifferent:
%%* PutOnABus:

to:

* {{Dhampyr}}: His Subverted. Despite having a human mother was and a normal human while vampire father, Janus is actually a pure-blooded vampire instead of dhampyr like Blade, and as such, shares all their common weaknesses such as aversion to sunlight.
* EnemyMine: With the X-Men during ''Curse of the Mutants''. He isn't necessarily hostile with them personally, but he is loyal to
his father was who most certainly is, but both need to join forces in order to stop Xarus by resurrecting Dracula, so this trope still qualifies.
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: He very personable and affable with others and doesn't come across as evil like every other vampire in
the King story.
* TheDutifulSon: He is the only Dracula offspring to be loyal to their father instead
of Vampires.
%%* OurAngelsAreDifferent:
%%* PutOnABus:

trying to kill them like Lilith or Xarus.
* OutOfFocus: He doesn't have a big presence in the Marvel Universe. After being brought back to life during the original ''Tomb of Dracula'' comic, he disappeared and wouldn't appear again in comics until ''Curse of the Mutants''.
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: After being killed as a baby, he had his soul merged with a spirit of light that turned him into a powerful angelic being.

* HowTheMightyHaveFallen: He was subjected to this after being depowered, going as far as to beg to his hated daughter to turn him so he could regain his powers (though she refused). A more comedic example in ''Deadpool: Til Death Do Us'' following his latest defeat, he became a reclusive BasementDweller who lives in a old lady's home and plays video-games all the time. Quite the shocking fall from grace from the Lord of Vampires who governed his ''own nation''.

* HurlItIntoTheSun: Old Man Logan tried to defy his JokerImmunity by having a Sentinel throw his decapitated head into the sun. [[StayingAlive It didn't take]].

* JokerImmunity: Dracula has been killed so many times (even his own demise in the Bram Stoker's novel took place), but he keeps coming back to life no matter what.

* PragmaticVillainy: In the more recent years, he has given up trying to take over the world when he used to do in the past when fighting Dr. Strange and Blade, and decided to keep vampirekind hidden in the shadows because he knows that they couldn't possibly rival other superhumans.

to:

* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: He despises Muslims ever since he has been at war with the Ottoman Empire.
* PragmaticVillainy: In the more recent years, he has seemingly given up trying to take over the world like when he used to do in the past when fighting Dr. Strange and Blade, and decided to keep vampirekind hidden in the shadows because he knows that they couldn't possibly rival other superhumans.superhumans, with this being the reason why his son Xarus decides to overthrow him in ''Curse of the Mutants''. However, its shown that he is just bidding his time to try it all over again, as he tells Old Man Logan that after the Inhumans unleashed the Terrigen Mist, the world has been thrown into disarray leaving it unprepared for the vampires to attack.

* RoguesGalleryTransplant: He didn't necessarily start out as any particular superhero's enemy, being an independent villain who happened to fight any hero that crossed his way his way such as Thor, Silver Surfer and Dr. Strange. With that said, he became heavily involved with the Franchise/XMen and many related characters, having tried to turn {{ComicBook/Storm}} and take her as his bride, having a blood feud in separate occasions with {{ComicBook/Apocalypse}} and {{ComicBook/Deadpool}}. In addition, he was heavily involved in one major X-Men arc, ''ComicBook/CurseOfTheMutants'', where his own son Xarus tried to overthrow him requiring the X-Men to form an [[EnemyMine alliance]] with Dracula to beat him.

* UnholyMatrimony: His female companions from Stoker's novel are identified as his concubines that he had turned over the years. Dracula also attempted to marry the succubus princess Shiklah just so they could unite the monster races into a single banner, but she fell for Deadpool instead (to be fair, he courted her more for political reasons rather than any genuine romantic feelings). [[spoiler:He gets a second chance after they divorce in ''Deadpool: Til Death Do Us Part'']].

Added DiffLines:

* VillainousCrush: Dracula had coveted some superheroines to be his brides. The most well-known is Storm from the X-Men, but he also had eyes on [[ComicBook/TheMightyThor Sif]] in [[https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jn_C0S38KKk/UgQuHpEIisI/AAAAAAAAQoI/4gEiRT8tYqU/s1600/thor333_2.jpg one occasion]].
