* NominalHero: After deciding to give up evil, he's training to be a superhero and joining a special organization, but he's selfish, lazy, and a glory-monger.



* TookALevelInKindness: In the season three finale Max becomes a hero and it is set to stay that way for the rest of the series.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Subverted, he wants to be this but he never truly does anything heinous enough to qualify, at least nothing he didn't regret afterwards.
