!!Please be aware that this page contains unmarked spoilers! Caution is advised! This is the character page for members of the Jedi Order. For other characters, see the main index [[Characters/StarWarsTheCloneWars here]]. [[foldercontrol]] [[folder:Jedi Council]] !! In general * {{Badass}}: They are some of the most powerful individuals in the Galaxy. * BrokenPedestal: ** [[spoiler: Part of the reason Barriss fell to the Dark Side, was that she felt the Council came to believe only in violence.]] ** Their treatment of Ahsoka during her {{Frameup}} ends up shattering her faith in them, [[spoiler: prompting her to refuse their offer to return to the Order.]] * CombatClairvoyance: Jedi stock power; this is how they can deflect blaster fire with their lightsabers. * FourStarBadass: They were all promoted/forced to take on the role of generals in the Grand Army of the Republic. * HeroWithBadPublicity: Over the course of the series, their involvement in the war increasingly alienates them from the public. * LaserBlade * MasterSwordsman: Some of them are greatest lightsaber duelists of the Galaxy. * MortonsFork: ** The Order's entire involvement in the war: they either participate to protect the Republic and its citizens as per their duty, risking an abandoment of their morals, or hold on to their morals and stay out of the war while Dooku enslaves the galaxy. ** This came to its head during the Season 5 finale arc, where they were forced to choose between defending Ahsoka as one of their own or give her up to the Republic courts to maintain their standing with the Senate. They opted for the later, though not without some internal dissent. * NotSoOmniscientCouncilOfBickering: The ensemble of the most powerful, most knowledgeable and wisest beings in the Galaxy...yet they continue making very questionable decisions, such as: ** Lying to the emotionally unstable Anakin, that his father figure died. ** Training and backing guerrila-esque freedom-fighters to overthrow a legitimate government. ** Abandoning one of their own, based upon circumstantial evidence that she committed treason because the Senate put some pressure on them in the matter. ** Doubting ''Yoda's'' sanity and putting him under constant surveillance, when he claimed that he had contacted the dead, simply because they were ''that'' convinced it's impossible to maintain their identity beyond death. * PsychicPowers: The common ones include [[TheEmpath Empathy]], JediMindTrick, [[MySignificanceSenseIsTingling Clairvoyance]] and MindOverMatter. However during the time of the series, their [[{{Seers}} precognitive]] powers are almost always clouded by TheDarkSide. * WhatTheHellHero: The Order, particularly the Council, is often called out by other characters for their dubious actions: ** In the Deception arc, they [[FakingTheDead fake Obi-Wan's death]] so he could [[ReverseMole thwart Dooku's plan to kidnap Palpatine from within]]. When Anakin finds out that they deliberately lied to him so his reaction would sell Obi-Wan's death, he calls them out on it. ** Three instances just in the season 5 finale: *** Ventress delivers an indirect one through Anakin, by comparing how the Council abandoned and effectively betrayed Ahsoka to how Dooku did the same to her. Anakin is outright ''horrified'' when he realizes she's right. *** [[spoiler: Barriss justifies her attack on the Order as a stand against the growing corruption of its principles, claiming that they've become the very menace they are supposed to be fighting. She's right, too, even if none of them realize why.]] *** While Ahsoka doesn't call them out on it directly after she's been cleared of the charges, her expression speaks volumes of her opinion when the same men praise her strength and resilience who have given her up to the Senate Court as a traitor not long before. !! Yoda [[quoteright:164:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Yoda_1b_8501.jpg]] [[caption-width-right:164:"Long is the war. Only by surviving it do you prevail."]] --> Voiced by: Creator/TomKane The ancient, but still very powerful and wise leader of the Jedi Order. * {{Ambadassador}}: He went on a diplomatic mission in "Ambush", during which he was forced to take on an entire battalion of droids with only three clones to help him. * AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: He is the de facto leader of the Jedi Order and the most powerful Jedi of his time. * {{Badass}}: The biggest one in a show full of them. "Size matters not!", after all. * BadassAdorable * BadassGrandpa: At the age of 800, he's more than a match to an entire battalion of droids, and is capable of forcing Ventress to retreat with two casual gestures of his hand. * BrownEyes * BigGood: As the leader of the Jedi Order, he's the main organizer of the defense of the Republic. * CoolOldGuy * CoolStarship: His Jedi starfighter, naturally. However, unlike other Jedi, his fighter seems to be made specifically to accommodate his size. * EnemyWithout: One of his trials in "Destiny" involves him facing his own inner darkness, which takes the form of a shadowy, demonic version of himself with GlowingEyesOfDoom. * ExpressiveEars: His mood can be easily read from them. * AFatherToHisMen: He encourages the clones to develop self identity. * MiniatureSeniorCitizen: He's 900 years old, and barely reaches to knee level of most characters. Justified, since he's an alien. * MyGodWhatHaveIDone: While he doesn't utter the phrase, his expression just screams that he's blaming himself [[spoiler: when Ahsoka refuses to return to the Order]], which is revisited in "Destiny". In the same scene, he shown to react this way whenever he feels he's steered the Jedi wrong. * NoodleIncident: According to Huyang, how he got the crystal for his lightsaber is a very interesting story. * OldMaster: A MasterSwordsman, one of the two strongest Force-users, and with the wisdom of over eight centuries behind him. He wasn't accidentally the former TropeNamer. * OneManArmy: He takes down Ventress's droid army on Rugosa almost singlehandedly. * PintSizedPowerhouse: He doesn't even reach up to the knees of most characters, yet he's one of the strongest characters not just in the series, but in the entire franchise. * [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld Really 800 Years Old]] * StrangeSyntaxSpeaker: Object-Subject word order he uses. * ThisCannotBe: Yoda uttered this phrase, when Qui-Gon contacted him, and proved his existence by telekinetically levitating Yoda and everything moveable in Yoda's quarters. * TricksterMentor: Shows this in "The Gathering". When the younglings are warned that the ice door to the crystal cave will seal behind them at day's end, they all assume it will take another 19 days (how long it takes for the sun to rise on Ilum) to escape. At the end, Petro crashes through the ice to escape. When called on it, Yoda points out that the door is just ice and not that difficult to break if you're determined. They were only trapped by their own fears. * TheWonka: The clones under his command can't figure out what he says half the time; one of them even admitted that "there's no figuring a Jedi Master", but they follow his lead because they know there's a method to his madness. !! Mace Windu [[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/MaceWindu_1a_7931.PNG]] [[caption-width-right:250:"One problem always seems to replace another."]] --> Voiced by: T.C. Carson [[TheOtherDarrin in the TV-series]], Creator/SamuelLJackson in TheMovie The second-most powerful member of the Jedi Council after Yoda. * AuthorityEqualsAsskicking * {{Badass}} * BadassBaritone * BaldOfAwesome * BaldBlackLeaderGuy: While technically outranked by Yoda, Mace is the most assertive and dominant personality in the Council, with Yoda seemingly content to let Mace run the show. * BigGood: Shares the role with Yoda for the Jedi Order. * TheComicallySerious: When teamed up with Jar Jar Binks during "The Disapppeared", his serious demeanor is there to offset Jar Jar's wackiness. * DeadpanSnarker: At times. --> '''Ahsoka''': Guard duty?! For how long?\\ '''Mace''': Longer now. * GoodIsNotSoft: He's not someone you want to face on the battlefield. * ImplacableMan: As displayed in "Liberty on Ryloth". * NumberTwo: He's the second-in-command of the Jedi Order to Yoda. * OneManArmy: Mace is on par with Yoda in his ability to devastate Separatist infantry, as seen in the Ryloth arc. * PurpleIsPowerful: He's the second most powerful Jedi in the series, and his lightsaber is purple. He even provides the page image for it. * ScaryBlackMan: His implacable nature and fierce disposition are such that, in the Ryloth arc, Dooku ordered Wat Tambor and his army to retreat rather than face Windu. In "The Disappeared, Part I", he was able to scare off a Frangawl cultist just by looking at him (after taking out the rest of his allies). * ShatterpointTap: His unique ability is being able to see the shatterpoints of things in the Force. In the show, he used only once, to break the windshield of broken-down Republic walker and rescue its unconscious driver. * TheStoic: Throughout the five seasons of the show, he was shown smiling ''once''. !! Plo Koon [[quoteright:249:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/PloKoon_1a_001_2237.JPG]] [[caption-width-right:249:"When you ask for trouble, you should not be surprised when it finds you."]] --> Voiced by: Creator/JamesArnoldTaylor A member of the Council, Plo Koon is an old friend and parent figure for Ahsoka Tano. * AcePilot: He was shown to be a pilot with skills rivaling Anakin's. * AffectionateNickname: He often calls Ahsoka "Little 'Soka". * AscendedExtra: He was a back-ground character in the movies. In the series he has the most screen-time of all Council members, except for Obi-Wan, who's one of the {{deuteragonist}}s. * AuthorAppeal: He is Dave Filoni's [[EnsembleDarkhorse favorite character]]. * {{Badass}}: When he's trapped in space in a non-functional escape-pod, which is about to be dismantled by droids, what does he do? Leaves the pod, protected only by his hide and mask, and deals with the droids personally. * BadassBaritone * BadassLongRobe: Dons an exceptionally badass one in "Lethal Trackdown". * BizarreAlienBiology: Apparently Kel'dors like Plo Koon can survive in space for a short time, with only their breathing masks protecting them. * CoolMask: His breathing mask. * DeadpanSnarker: He's got his moments, particularly in "Lethal Trackdown" when it comes to Ahsoka's lack of subtlety. * ExplosiveDecompression: [[AvertedTrope Averted]] and [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]]. Before leaving a space pod, he ordered his men to put on their helmet and follow him. He didn't need any protection, because he can survive in space long enough to deal with a few droids. * AFatherToHisMen: When he and three of his men were trapped in a non-functional escape pod, the clones were very pessimistic about their chances to survive, but Plo kept their hope alive by continuously reasserting that their lives weren't meaningless. * HumanoidAliens: Kel'dors have the general body-structure of a human, but their facial structure is so different that it's noted to be unsettling to other humanoids in-universe, they have only four fingers, and oxygen is toxic to them. * GenreSavvy: In "Lethal Trackdown", he very well knew he was walking into a trap when he landed on Florrum to meet with Aurra Sing and Boba Fett. * GratuitousForeignLanguage: "Ko-toh-ya" is a Kel'dor greeting that he and Ahsoka use towards each other. * TheObiWan: Somewhat downplayed, but he is the older mentor figure for Ahsoka. He actually shares this role for her with Obi-Wan himself. * {{Troll}}: When Plo, Gallia, and Commander Wolfe catch up with 3P0 and R2 aboard Grievous' flagship in "Nomad Droids," this ensues: -->'''C-3P0''': Yes, Commander Wolffe. How have you been, sir? We have been on quite an adventure. -->'''Plo''': [[BlatantLies Well, I'm certain Wolffe would love to hear about it.]] -->'''Wolffe''': Uh, a-actually, sir... * ParentalSubstitute: He was the Jedi who found Ahsoka, and brought her to the Temple. They maintained a strong bond with eachother. * TheStoic: Most of the time, unless the situation gets very serious. If he ever does smile, it's hidden by his mask. This is best shown "Lethal Trackdown", where he doesn't lose his cool when he has a gun pointed at the back of his head. !! Ki Adi Mundi [[quoteright:240:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ki-adi-mundi-001_502.png]] --> Voiced by: Brian George * AgentScully: He was the most vocal in denying the possibility of Yoda's claim about making contact with the dead. * {{Badass}} * BadassBeard * BadassGrandpa: His age doesn't seem to hamper him too much in battle. * BodyCountCompetition: After the second Battle of Geonosis, he manages to outscore Anakin and Ahsoka. He takes note of their competition and offhandedly asks what he's won. When Anakin replies that Ki Adi Mundi won his respect, Obi-Wan half-jokingly remarks that it's quite a prize indeed. * CoolOldGuy: When he heard Anakin denying to acknowledge Ahsoka's victory in the BodyCountCompetition mentioned above, Mundi told Anakin that he out-scored both of them. * KillItWithFire: Once ordered his troops to use flamethrowers against the Geonosians. * MyBrainIsBig: The "generic alien trait" variant, as while he has quite a large cranium, he's not hinted to posses super-intelligence. * NotSoAboveItAll: In "Landing at Point Rain", Anakin and Ahsoka hold a BodyCountCompetition during battle. After the battle, Ahsoka asked for Anakin's total, and it turned out she won. Anakin, however, claimed that since he had called in the airstrike, it should add enough to his tally to make it a draw. Hearing this, Ki-Adi Mundi added his own total, which was larger than either Ahsoka's or Anakin's, causing both Anakin and Obi-Wan to fall into StunnedSilence for a moment as he casually asked what had he won. -->'''Anakin''': ''"My everlasting respect, Master Mundi."''\\ '''Ki Adi Mundi:''' ''*Sounding almost dissapointed* "Oh."''\\ '''Obi-Wan:''' ''*Reassuringly* "That is a gift Anakin rarely bestows, I assure you."'' * ProperlyParanoid: ** He was the only member of the Council to loudly admit that Dooku was not the BigBad as they had believed, but TheDragon instead, and that someone even more powerful was lurking in the shadows. ** While he was wrong to suspect the Sith were behind the voices Yoda had been hearing, he correctly guessed that the Master-apprentice link between Yoda and Dooku could be exploited by the Sith, which Sidious and Dooku indeed ended up doing at the conclusion of that arc. * RubberForeheadAlien: He's a Cerean, a species with very large, elongated cranium. !! Kit Fisto [[quoteright:245:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Kit-Fisto-001_3761.jpg]] [[caption-width-right:242:"Jedi have great power. They should refrain from using it."]] --> Voiced by: PhilLaMarr * AlienHair: His tentacles. * {{Badass}}: Takes on Grievous and his four Magnaguards, and escapes unharmed, and even cut off one of the cyborg's hands. That's more that what Obi-Wan ever managed against the general during the series. * BadassBaritone * CatGrin * DualWielding: Used this technique rather epically in a duel with Grievous. * [[GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe Green-Skinned Space Hunk]] * FishPeople: Nautolans are an amphibian species. * HumanoidAliens: Nautolans like him are tentacle-headed, green-skinned, amphibian humanoids. * LittleNo: When his ex-Padawan Nahdar Vebb is killed by Grievous. * MrFanservice: He's the only male character in the series to have a completely gratuitous, non-[[JustifiedTrope justifiable]] ShirtlessScene. The directors joked that it was something of a ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' reference. * PerpetualSmiler: He always seems to have a smile on his face, even when idle. When he does actually smile, it's a very big cheesy grin. * ShirtlessScene: Let's just say there was a good reason all of Kit's fangirls looked forward to Season 4. !! Even Piell [[quoteright:215:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Even-Piell-001_8184.jpg]] [[caption-width-right:242:"This is war, Sobeck. We are all prepared to die."]] --> Voiced by: Blair Bess * {{Badass}} * BadassInDistress: He was captured by Separatists and was imprisoned in the [[TheAlcatraz the Citadel]]. * BadassGrandpa: According to supplementary material, he's well into his sixties. * BloodlessCarnage: An anooba wounded him with its fangs, but there wasn't a single drop of blood on him. * DeathInTheLimelight: He dies at the end of the Citadel trilogy. * ElectricTorture * EyeScream: He lost an eye way before the time of the series. A torture droid almost gouged out the other one. * HuskyRusskie: Speaks with a Russian accent. He's pretty small, but still pretty tough. * ImDyingPleaseTakeMyMacGuffin: With his last breath, he entrusted his half of the Nexus Route coordinates to Ahsoka. * KilledOffForReal * PintSizedPowerhouse: He's roughly twice Yoda's height, which means he reaches to about waist-level for most characters. That doesn't stop him from being as badass as anyone else four times his size. * {{Rewrite}}: According to earlier ExpandedUniverse materials, he survived the war. The series retconned this by having him killed by an anooba, a wolf-like alien predator, during the Citadel trilogy. !! Adi Gallia [[quoteright:230:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Adi-Gallia-001_8102.jpg]] --> Voiced by: Angelique Perrin * AcePilot: Flies alongside Saesee Tiin and Kit Fisto during "Citadel Rescue". Possibly a [[ContinuityNod reference]] to ''VideoGame/JediStarfighter'', a video game in which she was one of the main characters. * ActionGirl * BackToBackBadasses: With Anakin in her debut episode. * BadassInDistress: In "Nomad Droids", she was captured by General Grievous. * TheCameo: She does appear a lot in the background for Jedi Council meeting scenes, but she either has only a few spoken lines or none at all. * DamselOutOfDistress: She and her soliders escaped on their own before Plo Koon's rescue team reached her in the same episode. * [[spoiler: [[DroppedABridgeOnHim Dropped A Bridge On Her]]]] * HumanAlien: According to [[http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tholothian the other wiki]], she's not a "real" human. The proper ''StarWars'' term for races like hers is "near-human". * [[spoiler: ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Twice, courtesy of Savage Oppress in "Revival". Savage first impaled her with his horns, then delivered the finishing blow with his lightsaber.]] * [[spoiler: KilledOffForReal]] * NiceHat: Standard for her race. * OffScreenMomentOfAwesome: Her aforementioned escape. * [[spoiler: {{Rewrite}}: In another EU comic, she dies at Grievous' hands on Boz Pity.]] * [[spoiler: SacrificialLion: Her death happens in the season premiere, both demonstrating (outside of flashbacks) that Savage and Maul are very dangerous and that AnyoneCanDie.]] !! Shaak Ti [[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/star-wars-clone-wars-season-3_3_805.jpg]] --> Voiced by: Tasia Valenza A female Togruta Jedi Master who oversees the training and cloning facilities on Kamino. * ActionGirl * AdaptationDyeJob: While in the movies she's never shown close enough to be noticeable, her eyes were black. In the series her eyes are violet colored. * AlienHair: Her horns and head-tails. * TheCameo: Mostly in Jedi Council meeting scenes. * ClonesArePeopleToo: In her conversation with Lama Su about the Domino Squad, she argued that they can't just cast off the Dominos since they're living beings. * HornedHumanoid: Her montrals are hollow horns. * [[AFatherToHisMen A Mother to Her Men]]: In addition to her mentality mentioned above, she also gave some warm-hearted advice to Fives and Echo. She also stood up for Fives when Nala Se threatened to have him decommissioned for removing his own "inhibitor" chip. * LadyOfWar: In her one action scene, she took out a bunch of Aquadroids very gracefully. * OutOfFocus: She's the only member of the Jedi Council who had a slightly bigger role than occasional cameos who didn't get a DayInTheLimelight. * ReasonableAuthorityFigure: As the general in charge of overseeing clone training, she's essentially a happy medium between El-Les and Bric, caring about the trainees as individuals and wanting them to succeed, but also understanding the need for a [[SinkOrSwimMentor sink or swim mentality]]. * RubberForeheadAlien: She's a Togruta, a species that has two hollow horns and three head-tails. !! Eeth Koth --> Voiced by: Chris Edgerly * BadassInDistress: In his debut episode, he was captured by Grievous, although he put up a good fight against him and his Magnaguards. * DeathInTheLimelight: Averted. He was originally killed in the script of his debut episode, but Dave Filoni decided to spare him for future use. * ElectricTorture: He was subjected to it repeatedly while he was held captive by Grievous. * FacialMarkings * HornedHumanoid: He ''is'' a Zabrak, after all. * {{Rewrite}}: In a sourcebook for ''Film/AttackOfTheClones'', he was said to have been killed during the Battle of Geonosis. He was rewritten to have survived that battle for this series. * RubberForeheadAlien: He's a Zabrak, a species that has several cranial horns. !! Saesee Tiin --> Voiced by: Creator/DeeBradleyBaker * AcePilot: As seen in "Citadel Rescue", he's quite an accomplished pilot. According to the ExpandedUniverse, he's actually on par with Anakin and Plo Koon. * TheCameo: Mostly in Council meeting scenes. * EarlyBirdCameo: He was amongst the four Council members waiting for the remains of Savage Opress's first victims to be brought back to the Temple, but had no speaking role until "Citadel Rescue". * HornedHumanoid * RubberForeheadAlien: He's an Iktotchi, a species that has two horns hanging from fleshly tendrils on both sides of their temples. !! Obi-Wan Kenobi -> See: Characters/StarWarsTheCloneWarsMainCharacters [[/folder]] [[folder:Jedi Knights]] !! In general: * CombatClairvoyance: Jedi stock power, this is how they can deflect blaster fire with their lightsabers. * FourStarBadass: Every Knight ranked Jedi were given the rank of "Jedi General" when the war started. * LaserBlade * MasterSwordsman * PsychicPowers: The common ones include [[TheEmpath Empathy]], JediMindTrick, [[MySignificanceSenseIsTingling Clairvoyance]] and MindOverMatter. !! Luminara Unduli [[quoteright:235:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Luminara-Unduli-001_5229.jpg]] [[caption-width-right:242:"We suffer a great many losses in these battles..."]] --> Voiced by: Olivia d'Abo * ActionGirl * BadassInDistress: In "Legacy of Terror", where she was captured by Geonosian zombies and needed to be saved by Anakin and Obi-Wan. * BadassTeacher: To Barriss. * BaitAndSwitchComment: In "Cloak of Darkness" Luminara told Ventress, that she recognised Count Dooku's teachings in Ventress' fighting-style, which the assasin took as a compliment. Then Luminara added that she found Ventress' version "unrefined, amaturish, sloppy". * EyeScream: During her duel with Ventress in "Cloak of Darkness", she got some high-pressure steam blown in her eye, visibly turning it red for a short time. * FacialMarkings: She has a set of cultural tattoos on her chin. * GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe * LadyOfWar: Her fighting style is rather gracious. The British accent also helps in this respect. * TheStoic * YouFightLikeACow: She belittled Ventress's fighting style as an "unrefined, amateurish, sloppy" imitation of Count Dooku's, which apparently was a BerserkButton for the Dark Jedi. !! Aayla Secura [[quoteright:247:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Aayla-Secura-001_9674.jpg]] [[caption-width-right:247:"Sometimes it takes courage to stick to one's beliefs, young Padawan."]] --> Voiced by: JenniferHale * ActionGirl * AlienHair: Her head-tails (lekku). * BareYourMidriff * [[GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe Blue Skinned Space Babe]] * EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench: Like the rest of the Twi'lek characters, she speaks with a French accent. * ImpossibleHourglassFigure: Her model is as buxom as the actress who played her in the movies, but this version's waist is quite a bit narrower than her hips. * MsFanservice: She's blue-skinned alien woman who has large breasts and wears a quite revealing outfit. * RubberForeheadAliens !! Qui-Gon Jinn [[quoteright:222:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Qui-Gon-Jinn-001_2316.jpg]] [[caption-width-right:222:"I am here because you are here."]] --> Voiced by: Creator/LiamNeeson Obi-Wan's [[MentorOccupationalHazard former master, who died]] at the hands of Darth Maul in ''Film/ThePhantomMenace''. * AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: He learnt how to retain his identity upon death. * BadassBaritone: He is voiced by Creator/LiamNeeson. * BadassBeard * DeadPersonConversation: He appears in front of both Obi-Wan and Anakin on Mortis, and is able to speak to Yoda, despite being dead for over a decade. * EnergyBeing: Because his training wasn't complete, he can't manifest himself as a spirit, but on a planet sufficiently strong in the Force, he can appear as a "flock of light". * LooksLikeJesus: Beard? Check. Long hair? Check. Appearing before his disciples despite being dead? Check. * MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: His first appearance as a spirit adviser on Mortis was ambiguous enough that Obi-Wan wrote it off as a hallucination of some sort. His second appearance in the sixth season erases that ambiguity. * TheMentor: He becomes the one who teaches Yoda the way of retaining one's identity upon death, and manifesting as a Force-Ghost. * OurGhostsAreDifferent: Despite his inablility to manifest himself under normal circumstances, he was able to appear in front of Obi-Wan and Anakin on Mortis, most likely because the planet was such a strong conduit of the Force. * SpiritAdvisor: To Obi-Wan and Anakin during the Mortis arc. !! Pong Krell [[quoteright:304:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Pong-Krell-001_6872.png]] [[caption-width-right:304:"I will not be undermined by creatures bred in some laboratory!"]] --> Voiced by: Dave Fennoy A GeneralRipper-type Besalisk Jedi Master, Krell took over leading the 501st from Anakin during the Battle of Umbara. As the battle progressed, his reckless tactics lead to ever escalating conflicts between him and the clones under his command. * [[spoiler: ArcVillain: The main antagonist of the Umbara-arc, the whole time he's been secretly working to undermine the Republic's effort to capture the planet.]] * AttackAttackAttack: An accurate summary of his strategy. * [[spoiler: AxCrazy: It really shows once he reveals his true colors, taking pleasure in killing many Clones up close and personal, both for helping the Separatists and [[ForTheEvulz for his own sadistic amusement]].]] * {{Badass}}: Jerkassery aside, when he actually decides to get into the action Krell ''is'' a formidable warrior. * BadassBaritone * BadassBeard * [[spoiler:BastardUnderstudy: He wanted to become Dooku's apprentice once he defected to the Separatists. Stopping the Republic from capturing Umbara would've been his ticket.]] * [[spoiler: BeardOfEvil]] * ControlFreak: He has no tolerance for having his orders disobeyed or defied. * DualWielding: With [[DoubleWeapon double-bladed]] lightsabers. * [[spoiler: EvilAllAlong: Having foreseen the Republic's eventual collapse, he intended to defect to the Sith. Even if it was part of his plan to defect to the Sith, he obviously enjoyed the clones' deaths.]] * GeneralFailure: The way he commands, you'd think he's ''trying'' to lose. [[spoiler: He was.]] %% * GeneralRipper * GeniusBruiser: The genius part only comes into play, when he's true plans are revealed, and once he gets into the action he ''tears things up''. * [[spoiler: HoistHeroOverHead:]] [[spoiler: He does this to a clone trooper after revealing [[EvilAllAlong his true colors]], even breaking his spine on his knee in a manner similar to Bane.]] * [[spoiler: IFightForTheStrongestSide: He fights for who he believes will win. When he foresaw the fall of the Jedi, he decided to betray the Republic.]] * InformedAbility: Said to be a highly successful military strategist, but mostly just gives orders that seem intended to get as many clones killed as possible. Not surprisingly, he's also stated to have the record for highest clone casualty rate. [[spoiler: It's later revealed that Krell truly is a brilliant strategist: all of his battle plans were ''intended'' to kill as many clones as possible.]] * {{Jerkass}}: The ''nicest'' way to describe him. [[spoiler: He's later revealed [[ForTheEvulz to be far]] [[TheSociopath worse]].]] * LackOfEmpathy: [[spoiler: Even before he's revealed to have been EvilAllAlong and to have fallen to the Dark Side,]] he takes the "no personal attachments" part of the Jedi code way too far and doesn't even focus on the part about being compassionate, treating the Clones serving under him as expendable. * LightIsNotGood: [[spoiler: Before TheReveal,]] you could easily assume he's just a Jedi that puts more emphasis on "no personal attachments" and a lot less on being compassionate. ** [[spoiler: DarkIsEvil: After the reveal, it's confirmed that he has fallen to the Dark Side.]] * [[spoiler: KarmicDeath: At the hands of Dogma, the one clone who was utterly loyal to him out of duty.]] * [[spoiler: KilledMidSentence: Dogma shoots Krell right in the middle of his HannibalLecture to Rex.]] * [[spoiler: KilledOffForReal]] * LargeHam: From the start. [[spoiler: Once Krell reveals himself to be a traitor, he revels in delivering almost every line with as much malice and smug superiority as he can with a few {{Evil Laugh}}s thrown in for good measure.]] * LightningBruiser: * [[spoiler: ManipulativeBastard: Used Rex to secure the loyalty of the troopers in the 501st, despite the resitance his obviously flawed strategies met and tricked two clone battallions into fighting eacthother. !! !! Check. Long hair? !! * NotSoAboveItAll: In "Landing at Point Rain", Anakin and Ahsoka hold a BodyCountCompetition during battle. After the battle, Ahsoka asked for Anakin's total, and it turned out she won. Anakin however claimed that since he had called in the airstrike, it should add enough to his tally to make it a draw. Hearing this ''Master'' Ki-Adi Mundi added his own total, which was larger than either Ahsoka's or Anakin's, then causally asked what had he won. -->'''Anakin''': My ever lasting respect, Master Mundi. -->'''Ki Adi Mundi:''' ''*Sounding almost dissapointed* "Oh."''\\ -->'''Obi-Wan:''' ''*Reassuringly* "That is a gift Anakin rarely bestows, I assure you."''
