* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Could be this on occasions in earlier episodes (though not to the extent of his cousin, Angelica). Unintentionally, he could be seen as downright selfish and obnoxious, examples including "Naked Tommy", and even to an extent, "The Odd Couple". This however doesn't occur ever in later episodes.

* [[PluckyGirl Plucky Boy]]: He's always looking for adventure.

* RedheadsAreUncool: He is danger prone, cowardly, wore glasses that would break from time to time, had a perpetually stuffy nose and was often picked on by other kids. So much so that there were entire episodes devoted to him having an operation that temporarily cleared his nose, him trying to dye his hair black to fit in with the rest of the kids, and his other quirks.

** More so if one considers that, despite being well-meaning, her parents are pretty clueless, and sometimes downright negligent, when it comes to raising her.

* CharacterDevelopment / VillainDecay: In the first season, Angelica was a total {{Jerkass}} that acted nice in front of the adults, but had strong hate for the babies and she somewhat mocked people behind their back (Graham Canyon is a great example of this, as when Drew tells Angelica to have a good time, after Angelica's polite response, she sticks her tongue out at Drew). In later seasons (namely two, but mostly, after season 3 and the movie), she grows to like them and becomes a JerkWithAHeartOfGold, whereas she is still mischievous, but there's a nicer tone to it.

Like when she convinced Tommy, Phil and Lil that Chuckie was an alien [[ItMakesSenseInContext just so she could have the playhouse to herself]].

* {{Jerkass}}: Was solely this in the first season. ** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Season two onwards. A great list of examples are: "Grandpa Moves Out", where Angelica wanted Tommy to tag along (even if it meant causing trouble), "New Kid in Town", where she was incredibly annoyed at how Josh (the new kid) treated them, so much that she pushed him over and he started to cry, and "Rugrats in Paris", when she was disgusted at how Coco treated the babies. She's not a jerk (the only season where she was a jerk was season one, really), rather, even though she calls the babies "dumb", she doesn't really mean it, and more than often wants to hang around with them (even Tommy). *** Granted she still has lots of KickTheDog moments in later seasons and even if she's not as consistantly "evil" in depiction as she was early on, she's still an obnoxious and selfish bully on occasions. DependingOnTheWriter comes a lot into play.

She is really willing to manipulate the other characters to get what she wants. * JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Season two onwards. A great list She has alot of examples are: "Grandpa Moves Out", where nice moments—such as when she admits she'll miss Tommy when he almost moves away, or apologizing to Suzie via a hand-made card. In the sequel she TookALevelInKindness. * KarmaHoudini: Angelica wanted Tommy manages to tag along (even if it meant causing trouble), "New Kid pull one in Town", "Barbecue Story," where she was incredibly annoyed at how Josh (the new kid) treated them, so much deliberately throws Tommy's ball over a fence without any comeuppance. Presumably, karma wasn't paying attention that time. Angelica was in fact originally conceived as a KarmaHoudini to teach the audience sometimes life won't be fair. Allegedly the creators loathed Barbecue Story, which followed the original direction, and while she pushed him over and he started to cry, and "Rugrats in Paris", when she was disgusted at how Coco treated the babies. She's not a jerk (the only season where she was a jerk was season one, really), rather, even though she calls the babies "dumb", she doesn't really mean it, and more than often wants to hang around has mild cases of getting away afterwards, most of her truly heinous acts are met with them (even Tommy). *** Granted she still has lots of KickTheDog moments in later seasons and even if she's not as consistantly "evil" in depiction as she was early on, she's still an obnoxious and selfish bully on occasions. * SpoiledBrat: Was intended to be one and was a mild one in earlier episodes. But this got changed and she simply became a JerkWithAHeartOfGold. But even back in the day, she was not as much of one as most people seem to remember her as... * SweetTooth: She would sometimes [[BigEater eat too many sweets to where she would get sick.]] In fact, some of her schemes involve something relating to sweets. ** Especially in "Partners In Crime", where Didi bakes a dozen cupcakes, and Angelica had already eaten all but two. Then she goes on stealing a bowl of cookies and a cake for someone's 100th birthday.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Do ''not'' mess with her kids, it's also not a good idea to try snatch a dress on sale that she saw first either. One lady during a baby sale at the mall learned this the hard way. Didi was also quite shocked. * TheDeterminator: If she sees a dress she wants for Kimi during a clothing sale, she ''will'' get it.

* DependingOnTheWriter: Is she a JerkassWoobie (and maybe a {{Tsundere}} as well) or a flat out vile little brat whom dangerously borders on being a VillainProtagonist? It depends on how pleasant the writers are feeling about her at the time. Still happens in AllGrownUp but to a much smaller extent.
