Possible unmarked spoilers ahead.

* GoodCostumeSwitch: At higher levels of corruption, your armor grows spikes and turns black. If you stay low, then, as the game carries on, your armor becomes brighter and shiny.

* ArcWords: His catchphrase, as seen above, acts as this for the Overlord series.

* EvilChancellor
* EvilMentor: Given that he gave the Witch-Boy "a proper evil upbringing" in the second game, it's safe to say that he was most definitely one of these.

to:

* EvilChancellor
EvilChancellor: For his Overlords, which works out just fine as him and his boss are Evil. [[spoiler: Played completely straight in the first game, as he betrays you for the old Overlord]].
* EvilMentor: Given that he gave the Witch-Boy "a proper evil upbringing" in the second game, it's safe to say that he was most definitely one of these. He also acted as this for the first game's Overlord, bringing up to speed after their long sleep.
* KillEmAll: Gnarl is perfectly fine with a Corrupted Overlord killing everything, since it's such a perfectly Evil thing to do.

to:

* WhenIWasYourAge: Played humorously, as Gnarl comments on the younger minions and how he used to be like them, putting all sorts of weird things on his head.

* MouthStitchedShut

to:

* MouthStitchedShutMouthStitchedShut: This is their price for joining their Order.

* OfferedTheCrown: Each one of the heroes was or became king of their respective peoples.

to:

* OfferedTheCrown: Each one of the heroes was or became king of their respective peoples.peoples after felling the last Overlord.

* MercyKill: In the final stage of the boss battle, he begs you for one of these. [[PetTheDog You oblige him.]] Of course, the Overlord [[PragmaticVillainy can't reach dwarven lands without killing him...]]

to:

* MercyKill: In DestructiveSavior: His last shot at the final stage Dwarves did lock them into their mountains, but Oberon's done an incredible amount of damage to the boss battle, he begs you for one forest because of these. [[PetTheDog You oblige him.]] Of course, the Overlord [[PragmaticVillainy can't reach dwarven lands without killing him...]]it.

* PeoplePuppets: Oberon got taken over by the magic tree, and the plant doesn't let him do anything.

* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: One Elf is tired of fighting and hangs up his bow. Entire species is nearly killed as a result. Gets controlled by a giant tree in the time while the Overlord is sleeping. As it's a magic tree, it turns the entire forest into a literally nightmarish place populated by Skulls (upright-walking skull-headed animal nightmares) and Elf ghosts. And Oberon cannot end it himself.

A human paladin, Sir William succumbed to the sin of Lust and makes all of Heaven's Peak suffer for it, leading a cult devoted specifically to sex. [[spoiler: The succubi queen he summoned to please him, his cult, and anyone else interested is the source of the Heaven's Peak zombie plague.]] He's also Velvet's betrothed, though she really doesn't give a damn about him.
