* BadassNormal: To an extent. While he's not The Heavy and doesn't get a proper fight, he's the only normal human to be the BigBad for the season. While there have been former humans or humanoids as main villains, all of them, even the final villains of ''Flashman'' and ''Liveman'', had some sort of superhuman powers. Ryuya, as part of his plan, gave up his powers and only briefly took Tatsuya's Time Red powers.

* YouCantFightFate: During his time travels six years earlier, Ryuya finds out that Time Fire will die as the ranger and not the person in both the past and present timelines. Realizing that Time Fire will die as a ranger, Ryuya did his best to make sure Naoto Takizawa take his place. Despite his plan's success, Ayase kills Ryuya on the same day the latter was supposed die in.

* YouCantFightFate: During his time travels six years earlier, Ryuya finds out that [=TimeFire=] will die as the ranger and not the person, meaning anybody could fulfill this destiny as [=TimeFire=]. As the original ranger, Ryuya did his best to make sure Naoto Takizawa took over for him ASAP. Unfortunately, despite Naoto's death in the battle he was destined to die in, the other Timerangers find out about what happened after Ayase kills Ryuya.

The [[TheHero main character]] of the series, he is a 22 year old martial artist who was "drafted" into the team. He refuses to accept fate and his heritage as future CEO of his father's company. He believes that people can control their own destiny, but only if they fight for a desirable future. After joining the Timerangers, Tatsuya decides to move out of his father's house and uses his savings to rent the building that would be the Timeranger's home. Tatsuya works as a Karate Teacher at Tomorrow Research. When operating the Robo formations, Tatsuya is usually in charge of accessing the finisher moves to recapture the Londers Prisoners by wielding a miniature version of the Space-Time Sword/Chrono Divider to mimic the movement pattern. Although Yuri is the team leader, Tatsuya is the driving force of the Timerangers, essentially acting as field commander during the battles. [[spoiler:One year after the final battle, Tatsuya continues to live freely by himself choosing this lifestyle until he feels that he is ready to join his father's company.]]
