* WildMassGuessing: An in-universe example -- Raziel suggests the Elder God isn't a true god but just a powerful entity presenting himself as one, and also wonders if it was really the Elder God who revived him, or if it was another force that did it and the Elder God just took credit for it to win Raziel's allegiance. Both theories are entrely possible, and WordOfGod says they would have explored them in future games that never came to light, but in the canon it's unknown what the truth is.Daniel Cabuco has clarified the Elder God is not a real god, but it is worshipped as one which makes it a god FromACertainPointOfView, and for sure it is the most powerful entity in the setting seen so far. However, he didn't have any comment as to the Elder God's role in Raziel's resurrection beyond using him to harvest souls to feed itself.

** However, Daniel Cabuco has given an answer on this. According to him, [[spoiler: the Elder God is not a true god, it is merely a parasitic CosmicEntity, feeding on soul energy that latched itself onto the cycle of life, death and rebirth/the universe and manipulates the aforementioned three by feeding off the Wheel of Life. "...The Elder basically siphons off the lives that should be recycled back into Nosgoth, and plugged himself into Raziel as he was being unmade/remade. So like a sleazy agent, he takes a percentage off the top for every soul Raziel eats. The EG manipulates the wheel by effectively siphoning off of it. Remember that parasites aren't beneficial to their host (that would be a symbiotic relationship, not parasitic) so his taking of souls is not good for Nosgoth at all." However, the Elder God is worshiped by several groups who consider it a god, technically making it a god, and it is the most powerful supernatural being encountered in the series so far.]]

* BreakingSpeech: Gives a good one to Kain at the end of Blood Omen 2, ridiculing him as a man that got far more power than he ever should have and still couldn't be satisfied with it and endlessly craved more while destroying everything touched, hence why everyone around Kain kept betraying him. Even though Kain follows with a ShutUpHannibal, it's not a particularly convincing one, and the player is left thinking that Kain was trying to avoid facing the fact that his enemy was right.
