[[folder: Asa Poverly McFarland]]
!! Asa Poverly McFarland
A Grognard old school gamemaster who is famed in-universe.
----

* BeenThereShapedHistory: Was one of the original players of Hackmaster at Gary Jackson's table but wasn't a member of Hard Eight.
* FamedInUniverse: Zig-Zagged. He's famous among longtime fans of Hackmaster and people pay to be part of his games but he's only known to the most die-hard fans of the game.
* LoopholeAbuse: He has a few powers that were grandfathered in for him as an original Hackmaster player and Gamemaster. These include the ability to resurrect any character that has died in official Hackmaster games. He can only do it a few times every year, though, according to him.
* OldMaster: Is a fantastic "old school" Gamemaster who prefers working in his own way, not even using dice but chits.
* ThePrimadonna: Weird Pete has this impression of Asa due to his insistence on not having his games streamed or having audiences. Also, insisting on that he be given a cooler full of Gus as his conditions for running games.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Despite his terrifying reputation, he's actually probably the most reasonable and talented Gamemaster that has ever run a game in the comic's history. He encourages but challenges the players while being tough but fair.
* SecretTest: His entire campaign is built on these as each of the challenges the players face are ones that ones designed to test their morality more than their dice rolling or stats.
* TechnicianVersusPerformer: Is definitely more of a performer than a technician. He likes to keep the rules lawyering to a minimum and focus more on the roleplay element. His knowledge of the game is good enough that not even Brian has any complaints, though.

Added DiffLines:

* OnlyInItForTheMoney: He does a lot of his gaming to supplement his allowance.

Added DiffLines:

* KnowNothingKNowItAll: It turns out that Earl is actually quite bad at gamemastering as he hosts an event at GaryCon that turns out to be a bunch of people gathered around a dinner table with no dice rolling or combat. It ends up in a riot.

Added DiffLines:

* SmallNameBigEgo: Earl wrote a published Hackmaster supplement and has acted like he's the biggest deal in Muncie's gaming community ever since. BA has since equalled that accomplishment.

Added DiffLines:

* BunnyEarsLawyer: {{Subverted}}. His commitment to acting and roleplay do very little to get anyone to have fun.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: No one actually seems to like Cody but they tolerate him when they're down a player.
