* AttackItsWeakPoint: In the second phase of the fight, Pit must destroy the turrets on his body and cape as he works his way up, then fire at the swirling void on his cape. In the third phase, Pit must fire at the glowing wound on his chest left by the Lightning Chariot. In the fourth phase, Pit must fire at the jeweled core created when he regenerates his legs.

* BodyHorror: Happens throughout his final battle with Pit. First, he gets bifurcated by the Great Sacred Treasure. Then, when charging his most powerful attack, his forehead opens to reveal a large, grotesque ThirdEye and gets his head blown off when Medusa punches him.

* NotQuiteDead: His voice starts talking in TheStinger. He himself concedes that he probably can never come back to life, but is still able to talk to the player as a disembodied voice at least.

Literally, the '''''only''''' reason he lost was due to Medusa's intervention.

* AdaptationalBadass: Hades in Greek mythology was powerful, but nowhere at the level of this version, who poses a threat to the entire universe.
* AdaptationalVillainy: Hades in Greek mythology was not a nice guy, but his worse crime was tricking Demeter's daughter into staying in the Underworld. This Hades, by comparison, seeks to kill humanity and harvest their souls for his realm.
* AlienBlood: In Chapter 23, when Dark Pit [[ChestBurster bursts out of his chest with the Lightning Chariot]], Hades is shown to have purple and green blood.

* {{Badass}}: Despite his [[EvilIsHammy flair for the dramatic]] [[{{Troll}} and trollish personality]], he's shown to be a [[TheChessmaster competent schemer]] and one of the most powerful members of the cast, second only to Dyntos. Literally, the ''only'' reason he loses is due to Medusa's intervention.

* BlatantLies: He claims he wanted to use the (fake) Wish Seed to revive a girl's parents who he killed in a chariot accident, give them cash, and make them royalty... Nobody believes it for a second.

When he's off-screen making much of the banter between Pit and the other gods, he is mostly comedic, but when he's on-screen, the atmosphere gets much more serious. Played straight in the Japanese version, where he's more or less a straightforward villain with no hint of comedy.

* NighInvulnerable: Having his heart destroyed just irritates him, getting ''cut in half'' doesn't bother him, getting ''DECAPITATED'' barely slows him down, and even when Pit vaporizes him with the Great Sacred Treasure's Final Strike, {{The Stinger}} shows that he's ''still alive'' in some capacity. Put simply, Hades. Just. Won't. ''Die''.

* BreathWeapon: The snakes in her hair can fire dark energy blasts from their mouths.

* HumansAreBastards: Medusa developed a hatred for humanity, and started drying up their crops and petrifying them. This is why Palutena turned her into a hideous mosnter and banished her to the Underworld.

* HumansAreBastards: Medusa developed a hatred for humanity, humanity and started drying up their crops and petrifying them, believing them to be ungrateful beings that only turn to the gods when they need them. This is why Palutena turned her into a hideous mosnter and banished her to the Underworld.Underworld.
-->'''Medusa:''' Humans turn to the gods in times of need, then forget them in times of prosperity. They really are a fickle bunch.

* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: Most of the snakes in her hair are green, with the exception of one, which is orange. When she goes OneWingedAngel, ''all'' of the snakes in her hair turn orange.

* LoopholeAbuse: In the second phase of the fight, Palutena uses a spell to chain Medusa's legs to the ground to prevent her from teleporting. Medusa circumvents this by decapitating herself and sending her head flying at Pit.

* TakenForGranite: You wouldn't be Medusa if you didn't do this. Strangely, the only time she uses this ability is during the anime short.

Added DiffLines:

* ElementalPowers: Can [[BlowYouAway create tornadoes]], [[PlayingWithFire shoot fireballs]], and [[ShockAndAwe fire orbs of electricity.]]

Added DiffLines:

* SecretAIMoves: Inverted. In its boss fight, it can pull off a multitude of attacks like shooting fireballs, creating tornadoes, firing orbs of electricity and the like. When playing as it, it only uses the light arrows and a fireball as its charged shot.

Added DiffLines:

* AnimalMotifs: The snake, obviously. In ''Medusa's Revenge'', she is shown to have serpentine pupils.
* {{Animorphism}}: ''Medusa's Revenge'' has her turn into a snake before returning to her normal form to fight Pit.

Added DiffLines:

* BodyHorror: Her boss fight reveals she has a mouth on her hand which breathes poison gas. Later on, after going OneWingedAngel, she '''''decapitates herself''''' and sends her head flying after Pit.

* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: Literally. The first thing he does upon being created from the Mirror Of Truth is punch casually backhand Pandora.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The first thing he does upon his creation is to deliver an OffhandBackhand to Pandora when she orders him to kill Pit, showing he takes orders from no one.

* PowerCopying: He absorbs Pandora's powers after helping Pit take her down.

** ''Smash 4'' reveals that he currently works for the Forces of Nature post-''Uprising'', though as he states "Viridi's interests and mine just happen to overlap," this is likely a temporary arrangement.

* OnlySaneMan: Unlike most of the other gods, he has more justifiable reasons for what he does (i.e. sinking a city when those in it were becoming a problem, without going off the handle like Viridi).
** Granted, however, it's difficult to judge how well he fits this trope due to his rather brief appearance in-story.

* WeHardlyKnewYe: Only appears in Chapter 7 and is never seen nor mentioned for the rest of the game.

* NoIndoorVoice: Shouts practically every line.

* RealityWarper: Dyntos can do virtually '''''anything'''''. For starters, he can, among other things, create replicas of ''everyone'' in the game, from enemies to bosses and characters alike. He can even mess with their AI to make them tougher (Such as making an enemy move faster than it normally does). He can even replicate the locations Pit fights them in. He's also capable of replacing Palutena with a clone while ''putting the real Palutena to sleep'' despite her being miles away in Skyworld. What makes this frightening is that there seems to be virtually no limit to his powers. As Palutena herself notes, he could potentially take over everything if he wanted to.

* TopGod: If not necessarily the absolute strongest, he's implied to be more powerful than any other god in the series. In addition, Palutena refers to him as Lord Dyntos, implying a position of high authority.
** Then again, if he's based on Hephaestus, it would make sense that he's stronger than the majority of the Gods given he makes the majority of weapons for said Gods and Goddesses and would know their strengths and weaknesses as a result.

Likely where Pit gets it from; someone has to snap the both of them out of ordering a pizza during an AlienInvasion of all things.

* FlunkyBoss: Her boss fight has her occasionally summon Centurion Knights to aid her.

* MindOverMatter: Chapter 18 shows she has powerful telekinesis, able to toss pieces of Skyworld itself at Pit.

* PhysicalGod: DistressBall aside, she's a very powerful goddess and had no qualms demonstrating it. Best shown in the Air Battle of Chapter 3 when Pit's fighting Hewdraw. If he takes too long to defeat him, Palutena will use her Sacred Goddess Clobberlaser (Or Palutena Glam Blaster), a ''giant column of light'', to ''oneshot'' it. She also showcases other godly powers throughout the game such as her ''sneeze causing a meteor to change course'' at one point during Chapter 13 or creating an opening through a large storm cloud to get to Phosphora's Thunder Cloud Temple in Chapter 14. Gets taken to its logical conclusion in Chapter 20, where she serves as the chapter's boss and if her dialogue to Pit in ''Smash 4'' is any indication, she may have only been using ''a fraction of her actual power''.

* RealityEnsues: In the English version of the game, Dark Pit arrives and performs a diving kick to take down the Underworld Gatekeeper and emerges completely unharmed, prompting Palutena to note that such a feat is usually not that effective. Sure enough, she's proven right in the Japanese version, where kicking the Gatekeeper ends up injuring his leg.
