Julius' Judaism is not informed - his character reflects many subtle aspects of Jewish culture and mentality, and he is shown reading Torah and praying in Hebrew; there are no other acts within the movie to cast doubt upon his Jewishness, and we can't say for certain how assimilated it is. His inclusion in the trope would be borderline, at best; personally I feel he's a very well-done example of a Jewish character.
