* SociopathicHero: Or VillainProtagonist. At face value, Claude is among the most ruthless and cold blooded protagonists of the series. If he has any kind of loyalty towards his associates or allies, he certainly doesn't show it. He has no issues killing for profit, and lets Miguel be tortured by Asuka, who falsely believes the Cartel killed her brother (who was killed by Claude himself to help frame the Cartel). With that said, Claude's betrayals are often towards those who betray and try to kill him (such as Salvatore) or even verbally belittle him (such as Kenji, though worth noting is the mission in which he does this can be skipped if the player does the one where Claude betrays him first). While he does have a PetTheDog moment is rescuing Maria, the AmbiguousSituation on if he killed or not makes things a little murky.

* CharacterDeath: By Claude's hands at the end of ''III''.

* ClingyJealousGirl: In San Andreas, and how! She threatens to castrate CJ if he ever mess around and even after their "break up" she constantly calls through the game to insult him or to try to make him jealous by talking about Claude, culminating in she [[spoiler:calling CJ moaning while having sex with Claude]] after the final mission.

* ForTheEvulz: While most other antagonists have personal or professional reasons for their actions against the heroes, she just enjoys robbing, killing, and betraying people.

* MoodSwinger: She can turn from depressed, then kill happy to enraged and back within a matter of ''seconds''. It's surprising how she is even barely coherent.

* PetTheDog: Her relationship with CJ. As disturbing as it is to say, Catalina does seem to ''have'' some positive feelings for him. She says she "loves" him, and, even though it's creepy and destructive, both parties seem to care for one another in some capacity, and Catalina never tries to kill CJ like she does with her other boyfriends.

* SanityStrengthening: In ''GTA III'', she is for the most part just a drug kingpin with ChronicBackstabbingDisorder, aside from a few crazier moments. But, ten years ago, in ''San Andreas'', she was a complete psychopath who changed mood within a few minutes and made a lot of references to torture and even cannibalism. Justified, being the drug kingpin for her cartel (and the sole distributor of SPANK) meant that she needed to keep her own psychotic impulses in check to rule effectively.

* AmbiguouslyBi: Some of her interactions with Claude come across as flirtatious, but she also implicitly plays bondage games with Maria.
