* CreepyGood: Like all theobservers, he's cryptic and more than a little off-putting, but he's ultimately a caring soul on the side of the heroes.

Added DiffLines:

* HumanityEnsues: [[spoiler:His punishment for betraying the other Observers was that he had his implants removed and underwent experiments that turned him into a regular human before they dumped him back in the 21st-century to live out his life in exile. Considering he'd developed a strong fondness for pre-Observer humans by then, [[{{Unishment}} he doesn't consider this to be much of a punishment]].]]

Added DiffLines:

* PokeInTheThirdEye: [[spoiler:Because of how advanced he is compared to other Observers, Windmark's attempts at probing his mind telepathically gets him nothing but a bloody nose and the blood-vessels in his eye bursting.]]

* AnimalMotif: Nina Sharp compares them to lizards in behavior and anatomy and it's really telling. Their vacant stares and hairless bodies bring to mind reptilian physiology, they [[QuizzicalTilt tilt their heads]] to hear better the same way some lizard species do, and like reptiles they lack certain emotional capacities that allow them to form communal or familial bonds.

* {{Expy}}: They are oddly reminiscent of the Grey Men from ''{{Literature/Momo|1973}}'' - they're wearing dark dresses, are exclusively bald men, and aim to rob humans of their lifetime for their own gain.

They are oddly reminiscent of the Grey Men from ''{{Literature/Momo|1973}}'' - they're wearing dark dresses, are exclusively bald men, and aim to rob humans of their lifetime for their own gain.

Added DiffLines:

* HumanityIsInfectious: While they're designed not to have emotion as as part of the genetic engineering used to increase their intelligence, signs point to them developing emotions anyway when they spend enough time around humans. The various members of the Science Team start developing an attachment to the people of the 21st century [[spoiler:to the point where three of their members -- August, September and December -- betray their own kind to protect them]], certain observers show a level of possessiveness indicative of sexual desire or respond to music (something that they earlier interpreted as meaningless noises) and Windmark starts to hold a grudge against the Fringe Team for constantly undermining his authority.

Added DiffLines:

* OneGenderRace: Only male Observers seem to exist. Since they're grown in {{Uterine Replicator}}s, it's likely they did away with gender binary all-together.

In ''The End of All Things'', a partial origin of the Observers was revealed at last: They are a team of scientists from a ''very'' far away future, and something akin to hyper-evolved humans who have access to technology and methods to essentially displace themselves from both time and space - this lets them view and experience ''everything '''everywhere''' '', from ''the beginning of time itself'' to the infinite number of possible futures. That said, this sect of Observers is merely a singular, scientific cell... In "Letters of Transit", the ''almost'' full history of the Observers has been revealed. In the year 2609, Earth has become completely incapable of supporting life, and their race of hyper-evolved humans essentially traveled back in time, seeking an optimal period where they can settle down. In the year 2015, their invasion began and by 2036 they have completely occupied the world under a totalitarian rule. At this point in time, only the original Fringe team refer to them as "Observers" while everyone else only knows them as "Invaders." What they call themselves however is unknown.

An Observer that was successfully captured by Anil's team. Anil didn't have much luck getting any information out of him despite keeping him relatively confined, so he called in Peter to interrogate and torture him. Peter get any information out of him either. However, he ''did'' kill him and strip him of the tech that gives Observers super-human senses and abilities and used it on himself.
