Just like their parent, their personality is different depending on gender, though it's significantly more altered than the minor changes Avatar has. Male Morgan is much more calm, mellow, and kind of a dork, and is universally nice to everyone he interacts with. Female Morgan, meanwhile, is more aggressive, exuberant, and appears to not really care about the feelings of others as much as male Morgan, with something of a sadistic streak.

* CreatureBreedingMechanic: If you think of the units as the 'creatures' of Fire Emblem. The child unit produced is determined by the mother, while their hair color comes from the father. Each one has the potential to inherit both of their parents' strengths, skills and classes, making them that much more customizable compared to first generation characters, especially if one marries classes that cover each others' weaknesses (i.e. A General with a Falcon Knight to cover the former's subpar Speed and Resistance).

* DemotedToExtra: Unlike the ''VideoGame/FireEmblemJugdral'' games, where the children of the parent characters became the main characters after the first chapters, most of the second generation characters (with the exception of Lucina, who is not optional) are somewhat inconsequential to the story this time around. However, while the other characters are optional, they still had story related reasons for appearing.

Added DiffLines:

* HatesBeingAlone: While Morgan's issues on this isn't as bad as Kana from ''Fates'', and while they are genuinely cheerful, they do have some fear of losing the Avatar, if the pre-battle quote of the endgame is anything go by.

* BigBookOfWar: Owain has a "Manual of Justice," written by him, for him. If Inigo's excerpt is any indication, it reads like a [[TabletopGames/DungeonsAndDragons D&D sourcebook]].

* EngagementChallenge: In her supports with a non-sibling Owain, female Morgan insists he prove his commitment to their relationship through a series of challenges that come across like this. Subverted in that it's completely [[PlatonicLifePartners platonic]] if they don't reach S rank , but played absolutely straight if they do.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Much like his mother, Laurent explains everything in a scientific manner, lacks social skills and is extremely intelligent, all of which are indicators of Asperger's Syndrome. This is only strengthened by the fact that Autism-Spectrum disorders are theorized to be linked genetically.

* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Owain endures a fair amount of mockery for his theatrics. Some of his detractors, like Inigo, eventually learn to appreciate them; others, like Gerome and Yarne, remain bemused and irritated.

* GeniusDitz: Laurent encourages Owain that his wild imagination would make him a brilliant writer and a genius in his own right.

* VitriolicBestBuds: With Inigo, who constantly bullies him for his overactive imagination. Owain, surprisingly, gives as good as he gets and always counters by bringing up Inigo's CasanovaWannabe status.

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: In The Future Past, [[spoiler:a Chrom-fathered Inigo will admit that he's always felt inferior to Chrom and Lucina. In a CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming, Chrom tells him that Inigo that he has the potential to be a better man than his father ever was, and that Ylisse is lucky to have a prince like him.]]

* TheFriendNobodyLikes: None of the future children, except for Cynthia and Morgan (and technically [[StalkerWithACrush Noire]]), ever seem to be happy to see him when he shows up in their supports.

* VitriolicBestBuds: ''All'' of his male friendships are these. He relentlessly picks on Owain and Brady and is constantly trying to start fights with Gerome. The other three all seem to be genuinely annoyed by his presence but still put up with him.
