* BornLucky: Boy howdy. In-game he's the only character that is guaranteed to cap Luck without grinding to full level, and he has a ridiculously high cap for it as a Villager.

In-game he's the only character that is guaranteed to cap Luck without grinding to full level, and he has a ridiculously high cap for it as a Villager. To be more specific, he starts off with around 12 Luck at level one, compared to Luck-Asset Avatars who usually need some time to get that high, and thanks to Aptitude, he has the highest luck growth rate at 100%, compared to the second highest of a few other characters at 80%

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Before being dethroned by Flavia, he held absolute authority over the powerful nation of Regna Ferox. He's also one of the game's biggest badasses.
* BadassBaritone: Creator/PatrickSeitz gives him a distinct basso voice, adding to his credential as a colossal badass.

* Adorkable: Who knew that a massive badass like Priam could be as cute as a blushing school boy when he tells a female Avatar that he likes her?

* CrutchCharacter: Despite the fact that the early chapters of harder difficulties rely on him, Frederick will inevitably fall off in comparison to the player units, and the enemies by mid-late game where his speed is not sufficient, and his durability is not up to par anymore all thanks to his low base stats, and high internal level in spite of his amazing growth rate. With little to no grinding, Frederick is arguably the single most straightforward Jagen Archetype in the entire series, and is comparable to Old Marcus and Jagen himself in a lot of respects. Which is surprising considering his game breaking predecessors.

* Expy: Of Arden, who also had difficulites getting attention in his game. Their situation is so similar the Lost Bloodlines DLC makes a RunningGag out of it! Kellam and Arden are actually something of a Deconstruction of the unpopular Knight/General class. Their lack of presence parodies the benching of such classes in favor of faster, more mobile classes by players.

* BadassOnPaper: To Lon'qu's dismay, the infamous Gregor who has the makings of a khan... is also a jolly old guy who prioritizes money over power and warrior pride.

* LateCharacterSyndrome: Although the fanbase adores his personality and supports, he's the last first generation character to join and does so right before the second generation paralogues open. Depending on the parings that were made, a second generation unit able to do his job better (most likely a reclassed Morgan, Owain, Laurent or Brady) may be recruitable right after he joins.

* GenreSavvy: Why he actually doesn't lead armies. (See HiddenDepths)

* GenreSavvy: He knows that he's TheBigGuy at best in terms of his role in the plot but he still insists on challenging Chrom and acting like his Lancer because he figures that the only way he can become the best warrior in the army is to keep challenging the one who currently holds that title.

* GenreSavvy: Kellam is fully aware of how unnoticeable he is and apparently knows how to "disappear" at will.
** Becomes something of FridgeBrilliance when one notices that one of two other classes he can change into with a Second Seal is the Thief class... and he performs well at it, too.

* LateCharacterSyndrome: Although the fanbase adores his personality and supports, he joins well after you've probably already got your main party organized. By the time he shows up you may even have some of the second generation. Unless Tharja's growths have failed her, he's mostly just a backup.
