* HorrifyingHero: Anyone who sees him is instantly horrified. [[spoiler: This turns against him in the manga and ‘’Crybaby’’ in which multiple people find him horrific and the same as a normal demon, and he becomes hunted as a result.]]

* ActionGirl: Shown a little bit in Crybaby when she throws a guy to the ground in self defense, but played straighter in the original manga, where she borders on being a Sukeban. Most of the time, she's downgraded to more of a neutral female. In contrast Miko becomes a bit of a demon hunter in the third OVA and is something of a right-hand-lady to Akira.

* Chickification: Miki in just about everywhere else outside the original manga, somewhat in Crybaby, the first OVAs and Devilman Grimoire. Originally she pushed Akira into becoming more active and insisting that he fought back against people who bullied him, and eventually she liked Akira even more when he became more aggressive in his Devilman days. Other adaptations however, like the Anime and the final OVA, like to portray Miki in a more pure light; she is not shown to be amused by Akira being aggressive and certainly does not encourage him to fight anyone, and even in AMON where she retains her original personality, the aggressive part is still gone.

* ButNtTooForeign: Her Crybaby incarnation made her father an American.

* LoveInterest: To Akira in Devilman, Ryo in Violence Jack, Amon in the 70s Devilman anime and Grimoire, and Jun Fudos younger brother Hikaru Fudo in Lady. She becomes a love interest to Akira again in Crybaby'.

** In Crybaby, his first day back at school as a demon hybrid involves tearing a locked door open with his bare hands, eating like a monster, loudly watching porn in the auditorium, running track while sporting a massive bulge and condescendingly rebuking a frantic crowd of girls' advances. Suddenly, gaggles of schoolgirls are fawning over him wherever he goes.

** Akira cries so easily in Crybaby that it puts people off because they have no idea what he is crying for, resulting in a couple comedic moments.

* NocturnalEmission: Gets an extreme one in Crybaby, where his EroticDream causes him to ejaculate so much semen that it plasters the ceiling and lands on him, waking him up from it.

* NotHimself: In Crybaby, Akira starts off as a meek, shrimpy young man who cries with little provocation. After fusing with Amon, his personality pulls a 180: in addition to gaining an athletic physique, he becomes debonair and cocky.

* TenderTears: Akira's tears run freely and frequently in Crybaby. It is noted in the anime that Akira does not cry for himself, but for others. He is easily swayed by other's suffering, often picking up on the other person's hidden emotions. Becoming Devilman did not change this aspect of his personality in the slightest. .

* Bishounen: Can be classed as such in Crybaby due to his somewhat feminine looks that don't quite border on DudeLooksLikeALady.

* CryCute: Ryo gets one [[spoiler: at the end of Crybaby. After realizing that Akira is dead, Ryo/Satan learns all too late what Akira really meant to them. They begin to beg Akira to answer them as they hold Akira's lifeless body. The anime ends with Ryo/Satan sobbing alone as angels descend upon the Earth to destroy and create it anew.]]

* LosingAShoeInTheStruggle: In Crybaby in while barefoot, having been forced to vacate her house so fast there wasn't any time to grab shoes. Closeups are even shown of her feet struggling to traverse the hard ground intermixed with scenes of her running track. Turns out not getting shoes [[spoiler:proves fatal when she gets shot in the leg and can't outrun her attackers]].

* MixedAncestry: She's half-Caucasian, half-Japanese in Crybaby, which made her a target of bullying when she was younger.

* MsFanservice: In Crybaby, there are several scenes of her running track and in the locker room and her legs and feet get a lot of attention (she even has a social media post with a friend spelling out "SOLE" with magic marker on their soles). She even gets a bathing scene, though it borders on FanDisservice given the context to some viewers.
