* VillainDecay: Goes through this throughout ''Chronophantasma''. [[spoiler: Without his (clearly more competent) cohorts to bail him out and clean up his mess, he quickly loses his BoringInvincibleVillain aura. His KickTheDog traits begin to seriously get in the way of his mission, and because [[WeAreStrugglingTogether the good guys have stopped fighting among themselves]] and [[EnemyMine unite to take him out]], he can no longer easily play DivideAndConquer like in ''Continuum Shift''. Due to losing his ability to know everything in advance, he is no longer CrazyPrepared and the good guys pull several fast ones on him, proving Rachel is [[XanatosSpeedChess better at thinking on the fly]], and results in him getting ambushed by The Six Heroes Heroes, then getting split apart from Terumi, and Hakumen nearly taking him out permanently.]]]] It shows in ''CF'' in that, while still an enigmatic guy with hidden agenda who likes to toy with people's minds, he doesn't play big like other villains and especially Terumi.

* VillainousValour: Technically many of the characters ''can'' actually defeat him. Hazama/Terumi is frequently pitted against characters who are equally strong or even stronger than he is, but he still manages to win due to his wits and cunning. [[spoiler:Hakumen (at full power) is far more powerful than he is, Ragna beats him at the end of ''CS'', Rachel was more powerful than him in ''CT'' and can still hold her own when he gets his strength back in ''CS'' (thanks to a stronger link to the world, and his Azure Grimoire), Jin nearly came close to beating him only for Hazama/Terumi to retreat at the last second, Makoto has been shown to be able to hold her own against him though she has no way of defeating him, Kokonoe in her CP Arcade mode is capable of beating him in a fight.]] If it wasn't for those [[GambitIndex gambits]], [[spoiler: his Azure Grimiore, his revolving door of Observers and life-links, and Phantom being his exit bus]], he probably wouldn't even be so successful.
** [[spoiler: Sure enough, this is proven true in ''Chronophantasma''. With the timeline resets stopped, Phantom's observation spells are rendered ineffective, thus stripping Hazama/Terumi of most of his ability to plan ahead and forcing him to think on his feet more often. Further, a [[BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind series]] of [[LiteralSplitPersonality events]] orchestrated by Rachel and the Six Heroes forces Terumi himself in the flesh out of his Hazama body and into the physical world in corporeal form, while a collaboration between Makoto, Kagura, Jin and Noel end with Tsubaki free of the Mind Eater and him minus one [[OutGambitted Hakumen-proof shield]], especially since he wasn't even there to stop the latter case himself. The result? [[KilledOffForReal The serpent is beheaded]].]]

* {{Determinator}}: Her ''CF'' arcade shows her to be this - she was beaten quite hard by Hakumen and yet choosing to keep going. All because she wants to meet Ragna. Hakumen and Nine naturally lampshade this.

* {{Determinator}}: Her ''CF'' arcade shows her to be this - she was beaten quite hard by Hakumen and yet choosing to keep going.going, even ignoring her innate self-preservation programming (and, later, Relius' restrains on her). All because she wants to meet Ragna. Hakumen and Nine naturally lampshade this.

* IWillFindYou: At the end of her ''CPEX'' arcade run, she resolves to find Ragna. In ''CF'', despite being controlled by Kokonoe, she still tries to find Ragna and will try to eliminate any perceived threat towards him.

* IWillFindYou: At the end of her ''CPEX'' arcade run, she resolves to find Ragna. In ''CF'', despite being controlled by Kokonoe, she still tries to find Ragna and will try to eliminate any perceived threat towards him. In her Act 3 arcade play, when she finally meets Ragna, she's happy enough (as much as a girl like her can be "happy") that she's okay with Ragna telling her that he's going to erase her memories.

* WildCard: As of CF it's hard to tell what Hazama wants at this point. He has no desire to be Terumi's puppet anymore, but he still enjoys trolling the cast as always.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He's highly allergic to cats. This is pretty much a source of hilarity in the gag reels. Exploited in her Act 3 ''CF'' arcade, where she helps Ragna escape from Hazama and his allergy allows her to overpower him.

* ForGreatJustice / ForHapiness: The former to begin with. She was taught from birth that everything the NOL did was good, just and right, and had a BlackAndWhiteMorality view of the world as a result, which made her very easy for Hazama to screw with. After her recovery in ''CP'', she realises just how flawed the NOL really is, and prioritises the well being and happiness of her loved ones over the law, thus embodying the latter.

* CantLiveWithoutYou / GeminiDestructionLaw: Mmmmmaybe. It's really unclear just ''how'' Lams managed to cheat death post-''Continuum Shift'', but a "life-link" with Ragna is how Nu did it, and there's ''some'' insinuation that either Lambda has that too or that she somehow inherited it from Nu when Nu was made to semi-BodySurf with her for a bit.
