* CardCarryingVillain: ''Faith.'' After the accidental murder of the deputy mayor she throws herself so far into villainy that she becomes about as scary as Angelus. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] in that she first wanted to corrupt Buffy by forcing her to kill her, then it turns out Faith genuinely did have a death wish.

[[JustifiedTrope Justified]] in that her life takes a marked improvement under the Mayor, compared to the good guys, and she first wanted to corrupt Buffy by forcing her to kill her, then it turns out Faith genuinely did have a death wish.

* FaceHeelTurn: Faith. It starts in "Bad Girls" and continues with "Consequences".

* FaceHeelTurn: Faith. It starts in "Bad Girls" and continues with "Consequences"."Consequences". The sad part is, it's partially the Scoobies fault.

** Faith actually told Buffy that sometimes innocent people get hurt because of the good guys, and [[{{Hypocrite}} Buffy]] throws it back in her face.

* StealthPun: Faith's a bitch

** Andrew answers a call (for willow) from a guy with a girly voice called Fred. In the next episode Willow comes back with Faith.

* ForgottenFallenFriend: Willow and Xander's close friend Jesse. A SacrificialLamb in the pilot, then never mentioned again. Made more {{egregious}} by Xander making a reference made to before the two met Buffy as "just you and me."

Possibly justified in that case, as he ''was'' [[BrainwashedAndCrazy not exactly himself at the time]].

* {{FakeBrit Fake Brit}}: The two English slayers are played by Americans with particularly bad accents. Not helped by the fact that they share a lot of there screen time with Giles who is actually played by an Englishman and a lot of the season is devoted to Spike an American that does have a good working-class English accent showing how their accent isn't either.
