** Traumador can write and post blog entries during situations in which it would logically be inconvenient for him to do so (such as while being trapped inside a backpack and being menaced by dromaeosaurids). He has even been known to respond to comments while supposedly being caught in these mishaps. Additionally, the posts sometimes end on cliffhangers, despite the fact that it would make little sense for Traumador to either have been blogging in real time or to leave the readers hanging had he made the posts after the events described.

Traumador is a tyrannosaurid who hatched from an egg that [[FunctionalMagic magically]] survived the [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt K/Pg Extinction Event]] and was discovered in Alberta by [[WriteWhoYouKnow Craig]], an aspiring paleontologist (and the mastermind behind the blog in real life). He eventually [[http://traumador.blogspot.com/2007/04/special-treat.html gets a job]] at the Royal Tyrell Museum and things get interesting from there. His attempts to fit in with modern society and get along with humans as well as fellow living dinosaurs (known as Vivus specimens) has landed him in many adventures over the years in several parts of the globe, some of them mysteriously dangerous…

** Mike the librarian.

** Mike the librarian.librarian, who Traumador often turns to if he needs to look up any specific information.
* SpiritAdvisor: Downplayed. Vivus dinosaurs can hear "echoes" from fossil dinosaurs, usually interpreted as the preserved last thoughts of those fossilized specimens, but coherent communication is generally not possible. However, Traumador's mother once apparently manifested these echoes to warn him about impending danger (which turned out to be the Crimson Talons).

** There are occasionally posts by characters other than Traumador that provide insight into plot points to which he is not privy, often with no in-universe explanation as to why they are posted on his blog. There is also no reason given as to why Traumador presumably cannot or does not see these posts.

Added DiffLines:

* AllLowercaseLetters: Traumador writes in this manner.

Added DiffLines:

* FourthWallMailSlot: Traumador regularly interacts with readers in the comments of blog posts.

Added DiffLines:

* LogFic: Besides the blog being framed as Traumador's postings, occasional posts by other characters use other framing devices (such as Professor Paradigm's personal log, Layla's diary, and Desdemona's reflections).

Added DiffLines:

* RealTime: The blog is generally meant to run approximately in real time, though {{Schedule Slip}}s often throw a monkey wrench into this. For example, Traumador's birthday is consistently celebrated on August 15th, whether or not it seems plausible that in-universe events could have plausibly covered an entire year. Additionally, this is evidently not a hard-and-fast rule, considering that some posts made over the course of several days clearly take place during the same day in-universe.

* ALighterShadeOfGray: While Professor Paradigm is the top-secret guardian of all paleontology, he has been described by Craig and "Ruffled Feather" as emotionless and in some respects as self serving as his opponents.

* AuthorAvatar: Craig, of course. Unlike most examples of this trope, the character is deeply involved with the plot.
