* ArcWelding: Was the first part of the manga a stand alone story with its own BigBad compared to the final arc and its BigBad? Hell, no. Turns out Aizen's up to his eyeballs in affecting the final arc and the final arc's BigBad has equally been involved in many of the events from earlier stages of the manga as well. While the fans viewed the story as one long chess game between Aizen and Urahara, the fandom didn't think to ask who had provided the chessboard. From events as apparently random as the death of Ichigo's mother, Rukia's execution, Ichigo's substitute shinigami badge, Aizen's hollowfication experiments and even Ryuuken's hatred of quincies (and more!), the final arc's villain connects almost everything. WordOfGod has indicated that the arc welding actually occurred at the end of the Soul Society arc when he realised how to end the story on the basis of what he'd written so far. The Arrancar Arc was therefore a middle that suffered from ExecutiveMeddling before the story was able to get back on track.
