* This trope occurs in Franchise/Halo games several times, with Master Chief rescuing marines, or Johnson rescuing the chief. The third game directly references the TropeNamer, as a character called Sergeant Reynolds, played by Nathan Fillion, states, "Looks like we got here just in the nick of time. What's that make us?" Gamers everywhere immediately replied "Big Damn Heroes, sir!"

** Second example is in Fire Emblem 10, right when [[spoiler:Lucia is going to be executed by the rebellion, The Greil Mercenaries in PERFECT Big Damn Heroes form all show up. What's great is that in the cutscene for their arrival, each one arrives saving another member of the party from being attacked. So any time the villains attempt a counter strike, they are instantly taken down. Making it a string of Big Damn Hero moments]]. One of the best--if not the best--cutscenes in the game.

** An official VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha 3 manga features a rather epic version of this. After the BigBad is defeated, Son Ganlong appears to take advantage of the Alpha Numbers' weakened state and finish them once and for all. At that point all the Alphas who didn't return in 3 show up to support their friends and dispense an almighty smackdown.

** The third game's Citadel DLC has a truly glorious BDH moment. Shepard (unarmored and injured) and his/her Love Interest are pinned by a shuttle full of armed mercenaries (including a Geth Spitfire). Just when things look bad, Urdnot Wrex (or James Vega, if Wrex is dead or hates you) comes crashing through the window a floor above with a war cry, and crushes/elbow-drops the shuttle hard enough to force it down onto the landing pad. He then leaps into the shuttle and starts beating the crap out of the very surprised mooks with his bare fists (and his armor-plated head), knocking them senseless and tossing some of them out the doors and over the edge.

** In FireEmblemAwakening, Sumia manages to rescue Prince Chrom and fetch him on her Pegasus when he's about to become a HumanPincushion. This is so well-placed that the Avatar uses it to create the Pair Up strategy.

** In VideoGame/MarioAndLuigiPaperJam, Mario and Luigi are, again, OneHitKO'd--this time by a stack of Paper Goombas that form into a giant steamroller form together. VideoGame/PaperMario then immediately floats into the scene and takes them on just as they were about to leave and report their victory to Bowser.
