** The Annie Awards are probably like Oscars for animated movies. Despite the equally-huge competition from {{WesternAnimation/Brave}} and WesternAnimation/RiseOfTheGuardians, the movie won about ''half'' out of the ten it was nominated for, while the other animated movies got no more than two each. Very impressive in itself.

* For that matter, the rescue is a MomentOfAwesome in it's own right, Ralph has hit the mentos and looks stunned, soft music plays as he falls in slow motion and then BAM, the music picks up and Vanellope is using her glitching to boost herself along the track for a last minute save. It would take a person with a soul of ice not to cheer.

* The way Calhoun reacts when Felix kisses her on the cheek is absolute perfection. She's startled at first, then grabs Felix by the front of his shirt, glaring at him as if she's gonna kill him, but then that little smirk on her face, you could almost hear her saying, in her military voice, "is '''that''' what you call a kiss, maggot?!" before proceeding to teach Felix what a ''real'' kiss is!

* Let's face it: [[MortalKombat Kano]] getting away with performing his Heart Rip Fatality. In a ''Disney'' movie.

!!Meta
* Disney went the extra mile with the advertising. They released not one but two fake commercials with actual ads for both [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wF_LJfwFsE4 Fix it Felix Jr.]] and [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LEY2rO5Sl4 Sugar Rush.]] And on top of that, setting it in the arcade of the movie to keep continuity.
** And now [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBzNSMdcm2w there's a third one for Hero's Duty,]] making good use of Music/{{Skrillex}}'s music for all it's worth.
** On top of that, all the non-game details like the map of Route 83 (where Litwak's is) getting more advanced and built up and reusing the footage of kids riding up from the ''Sugar Rush'' commercial in the ''Hero's Duty'' commercial.
** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74Pmy2bohAs A Behind The Screens of Wreck-It Ralph.]] It's very meta since it's an in-universe film of the events of the film as if the events of the film were a film about actual events. Also includes a playlist of a couple dozen short clips and bits made for the film.
* The trailer was released online, and the general outcry from video gamers was [[MemeticMutation "BEST PREMISE EVER!"]]
* Disney somehow got the rights to have [[Franchise/StreetFighter Zangief, M. Bison]], [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Bowser]], [[Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog Dr. Eggman]], and several other famous video game villains.
** Well of course they did. It's DISNEY, dammit...
* Disney also cast many voice actors to reprise their characters from the actual games.
** Creator/KyleHebert and Creator/ReubenLangdon voice [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ryu and Ken]].
** In other words, this movie is the video game equivalent of ''Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit''. That alone makes it awesome.
* On a Halloween episode of Ellen, [[http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/c0.0.403.403/p403x403/302727_10151237892269653_5730908_n.jpg Jane Lynch showed up dressed as Calhoun.]]
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MqvDKw6OWc Jane Lynch teaching us about the history of video games.]] Bonus points for when she shows off Hero's Duty and then closes it, a Cy-Bug escapes.
* [[TheCynic A. O. Scott]]'s [[http://movies.nytimes.com/2012/11/02/movies/wreck-it-ralph-with-john-c-reilly-and-sarah-silverman.html review]] of the film (keep in mind this is the guy who gave ''Film/TheAvengers'' and ''Literature/LifeOfPi'' mediocre reviews!):
-->“Wreck-It Ralph” manages to be touching as well as silly, thrilling and just a bit exhausting. The secret to its success is a genuine enthusiasm for the creative potential of games, a willingness to take them seriously without descending into nerdy pomposity. I am delighted to surrender my cynicism, at least until I’ve used up today’s supply of quarters.
* RogerEbert, who once said that video games "are not art," [[http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20121031/REVIEWS/121039996/1023 gave the film 3 stars (out of a possible 4) in his review.]]
* Getting nominated for "Best Animated Feature" at the Oscars. It lost out to ''WesternAnimation/{{Brave}}'' but that is still a pretty impressive feat nonetheless considering it's a video game movie - most others are immediately dismissed because of the medium's historically poor conversion to film.
** Immediately following Brave getting the Oscar for "Best Animated Feature," {{Nintendo}} posted a Bowser-related post on Facebook saying [[FunnyMoments "Grr! Wreck-it Ralph was robbed!"]].
*** The Annies actually have awards like "Best Director" and "Best Musical Score", whereas the Oscars treat animation like the kiddie table at Thanksgiving - no categorical awards, just "Best Animated Feature" overall, as if animation is a genre rather than a medium. So yes, it was a really impressive feat for ''Wreck-It Ralph'' to practically sweep an awards ceremony.

* After so many Disney movies where everything is instantly sweet after the climax and everyone not the villain is completely forgiven, [[spoiler: ''[[Franchise/DisneyPrincess Princess]]'' Vanellope Von Schweetz's first (joking) decree to have all of the other racers ''executed'' - said without hesitation - was just so delightfully wicked, especially coming from a ''Disney'' movie. Yeah, she was ''kidding'', but goodness do we need a release from all the drama that happens only scenes earlier, and props to Sarah Silverman for nailing those lines!]]
