* The Destroid Monster mk.I. When the Bird Human is seemingly unstoppable, the thing comes out and actually ''heavily damages it with four reaction shells'', proving that humanity is not completely defenseless against Protoculture's weapons. The only thing off is that Shin had already calmed Sara and thus made the Monster's attack unnecessary... But a man-made weapon system still managed to damage a Protoculture's mecha supposed to bomb back into stone age a civilization capable of reaching space.

** Even more formidable, this is a ''weaker'' version than the one appearing in the original series: the mk.II has more powerful cannons using liquid propellant for its guns, but the mk.I's ability to take recoil is much inferior, forcing it to use more traditional propellants and renounce the missile launcher arms to better brace before firing. Not of much value, considering the reaction warheads, but it bears to repeat: a ''FlawedPrototype caused heavy damage to a Protoculture weapon of mass destruction''. Just this feat would justify why the UN military and its NUN successor would later develop the VB-6 König Monster.

* Shin Kudo gets one at the beginning of the first episode of ''MacrossZero'', where he out flies an Anti-UN Valkyrie, in a F-14. He only loses because the other pilot pulls tricks he has no idea are even possible (transforming). He then fights that pilot again in the last episode, with about one month's training in a VF-0 and once again manages to out fly his opponent.
