** Later on, when Jack punches Ben in the face.

** Later on, Then, of course, there's the first scene of the pilot episode, where Jack races through the chaotic wreckage of Oceanic 815, saving one life after another in full-doctor mode as there is screaming and explosions happening all around. Afterward, when he goes off by himself, we discover he sustained a nasty gash to his lower back when he landed in the jungle. Not only that, but he's also clearly dealing with some personal issues. And he still was able to do all ''that''. It's truly an EstablishingCharacterMoment for Jack.
** In Season 3,
when Jack punches Ben in the face.face. He doesn't just hit him once, Jack tackles Ben to the ground in a rage and savagely beats his face in. [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown And he doesn't stop until his hands are bleeding and Ben is unconscious.]]
** There's also the NoHoldsBarredBeatdown Jack gave to Ethan Rom in Season One. Especially cathartic in that the last time they saw each other, Ethan beat the shit out of Jack.
** Anytime Jack fights Sawyer.

** He's pretty cool in the Season 3 finale. First he takes out two Others by shooting them directly, after his dynamite fails to detonate. Then when he's captured and the Others seem seconds away from executing him, his response (in Korean)? [[FacingTheBulletsOneLiner "Go to hell."]]

*** This Troper remembers a scene in season 1 wheere Kate, grabbing supplies to try to [[spoiler:save Boon's life]], she just bluntly says what she needs and Sawyer immediately gives her everything she asked for without so much a witty quip. It's not as big or grand as jumping from a helicopter, but it's still an even earlier example of Sawyer's well-hidden (at the time) altruism and HiddenHeartOfGold.

Added DiffLines:

*Juliet: is basically a Badass.
**In her very first episodes she goes from baking muffins and hosting book club to knocking Jack out with a single punch
**Gives Danny Pickett three rounds to the chest without blinking an eye, and in general is way too calm with a gun for anyone's comfort
**Continuously plots to kill and/or double-cross Ben
**Dodges Kate with expert ninja skills, suggesting martial arts training
**Walks Kate through how to pop her dislocated shoulder back in (did she mention it's the fourth time this has happened?)
**STARES DOWN THE SMOKE MONSTER
**Goes back to the beach to fight the Others with Sawyer despite knowing there are no guns
**Awesome fight with Charlotte
**Pretty much immediately becomes Jack's second-in-command and then new leader in the fourth season
**Performs an appendectomy on the beach, and in the same episode gracefully accepts that Jack wants Kate
**Detonates a bomb. With a rock. While severely injured.
