* Their surprise appearance at the 2008 Grammys during Music/KanyeWest's performance of "Stronger". The album version of the song uses samples of Daft Punk's song "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" from ''Music/{{Discovery}}; in the Grammy show, Daft Punk themselves appeared and performed that part of the song live. This was the ''first time'' '''ever''' Daft Punk had appeared live on television (they'd been on TV before, but always pre-recorded).

* Getting Creator/LeijiMatsumoto ''out of retirement'' to not just animate some music videos, but an entire album as a silent film. The end result, ''Anime/{{Interstella 5555}}'', is distilled awesome.

* Appearing pretty much [[AsHimself As Themselves]] in ''Film/TronLegacy'' and turning into a OneSceneWonder. According to the {{Disney}} executives, they not only showed up to the meeting in their robot suits, but spent the meeting (over pancakes) asking ''them'' all kinds of questions about the movie to see if it would be "done right".

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FH_q9HpT_w Everything about that appearance, really.]] As Kanye ends his section of the verse, the pyramid opens up to reveal Daft Punk behind it, working the sound system and remixing it live. They're even met with encouragement by Kanye (you can here him going "Yeah, yeah, yeah!" in the background). And after that, the music is pure bliss.

!!SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:

* The official reviews for the ''Film/TronLegacy'' soundtrack have been mostly positive. ''Fan buzz'' is overwhelmingly in love with it.
** If "Rinzler" doesn't make you want to fight a bunch of bad guys in super slow motion, you are obviously made of stone.
* To save some space, let's just say most, if not all, of ''Music/{{Discovery}},'' the album that ''made'' Daft Punk. [[NeoclassicalPunkZydecoRockabilly Disco meets house meets 80s funk meets soul meets whatever the hell else they feel like throwing in.]]
** Ditto ''Random Access Memories'', which uses the same idea but with a very different execution. Hell, it made Daft Punk all over again.
* All 84 minutes of ''Alive 2007''. That is all.
** The "Da Funk/Daftendirekt" remix in particular is just chill-inducingly awesome.
** In "One More Time / Aerodynamic", when that epic guitar riff pops in out of nowhere in the middle of the song...
* The "Television Rules the Nation/Crescendolls" remix. The two songs go uncannily well together.
** "Superheroes / Human After All / Rock'n Roll". Three songs. Three different albums and styles of music. One decade. One absolutely, incredibly beautiful, epic track, and the perfect closer to ''Alive 2007''.
* How about their debut album, ''Music/{{Homework}}'', all of which was created in Thomas' bedroom?
* And of course there's "Get Lucky," an awesome throwback funk track and their first Top 40 hit in the US and one that very nearly topped the charts.
* If you were to look up the meaning of the word "groove," "Lose Yourself To Dance" should automatically play.
* "Giorgio by Moroder", particularly when the awesome drumming kicks in.
* "Contact" from ''Random Access Memories''. They couldn't have picked a better way to close out the album if they tried.
* Considering the reception ''Human After All'' received, "Technologic" is actually quite good, especially for a song that was recorded within six weeks.
* "Instant Crush". Julian Casablanca's vocals are an excellent accompaniment to Daft Punk's groovy beat, and that's even before the sudden guitar solo comes in...

** Their second live televised performance ever was beside StevieWonder, blending "Get Lucky" with a number of other memorable songs. They essentially turned the Grammys into an enormous dance party, with literally everyone in the audience on their feet.
