** You have to still wonder why he didn't just get physical. Even with the handwaving, you have to wonder how that never occurs to any guy. If the story featured children as superiors instead of women, how long would it take an adult to realize they are stronger and take charge?

* Jerin repeatedly subverting the Porters attempts to kidnap and forcibly marry him using nothing but his wits and a little sleight of hand.
* Princess Ren ordering the Red Dog to ram Kij's ironclad, then firing the main canon through the breach and gutting the ship from the inside out.
* The Whistler's BigDamnHeroes moment at the end where the entire family shows up to save the royals from the surviving Porters.
