Not an example. Yzak and Dearka were going to be punished for their actions in the previous war but were pardoned. Dearka even gets downgraded from Red Coat to Green Coat.

Rey's experiences were very different from Rau's, and while he shares similar perspectives, Rey wants to save humanity than destroy it. Clearly, Durandal the biology expert, as with many other examples in media, that genetics only plays one part of a person's growth, their experiences play the other part. Not quite NatureVersusNurture, but both at once]].
