** This may be the closest thing to TruthInTelevision (although maybe not intentional) in the series, really [[spoiler:(except the coral aesop)]]. In WWII in {{Romania}}, King Carol the [=II=], in desperation because of his weakness, called upon ex-military commander Antonescu from jail to get the country out of trouble. [[spoiler:Antonescu soon took all of the power in the country, and had the King give up his position and leave the country the same night. His purpose has been deemed by some as suicidal as Dewey's.]]

A sort of CompilationMovie premiered in 2009, subtitled ''[[Anime/EurekaSevenGoodNightSleepTightYoungLovers good night, sleep tight, young lovers]]''.[[note]]The Japanese subtitle literally translates as "Pocket Full of Rainbows" but they still use the English subtitle "good night, sleep tight, young lovers" within Japan. It's all very confusing.]] The movie is set in an AlternateUniverse from the series, but still features most of the main characters.

* {{Badass}}
** Holland. [[spoiler: In Episode 42, He jumps off from Matthieu's LFO in mid-air, to get to his own, which is hurtling towards the ground. And succeeds at it. Then in the penultimate episode, he takes a good portion of the Ginga by crashing his LFO straight into it and unloading his entire arsenal. Then, gets out and continues on foot]].
** Renton and Eureka have some very prominent moments of badassery in Nirvash.

* AmbiguousGender: Nirvash. Eureka refers to it throughout the series as being male, but there are a couple times where other characters refer to it as female and [[spoiler: when Nirvash finally speaks in the last episodes, it's with a clearly female voice. Given its [[StarfishAlien origins]], Nirvash may not have a defined or set gender.]]

* RuleOfSymbolism: In the TV series, some blatant Buddhism got lost behind the [[BilingualBonus language barrier]].
** The Compaq Drives are named after ''[[{{Pun}} konpaku]]'', or soul.
** The Amita Drive is named after Amitabha, a deity for those who cannot reach enlightenment on their own. Hence a MacGuffin that unlocks Nirvash's potential.
** The plot is essentially [[spoiler:the Scub Coral needing to successfully communicate with humanity so it can reach enlightenment and [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence transcend this realm of existence]] without breaking it.]]
