Released in 1950, "Erase Una Vez" was a Spanish animated movie based of the fairy tale Cinderella...which unfortunately, was around the same time Disney released their version of the story.

When first released, the film was deemed worthy of national interest and won a Venetian film festival, but due to the legal complications with Disney and the Spanish government (the movie is set in Catalan Spain, leaving to fear that it would promote Spain as being a backwater nation), was never commercially released and appears to be a lost film, though a black and white copy can be seen at the Spanish Cinema Museum.

* DuelingMovies: Epically lost to Disney. According to some sources, Disney's legal team prevented "Erase Una Vez" from going as "La Cenicienta."

* CriticalDissonance: The film won a Venetian film festival and was deemed worthy of national interest, but good luck trying to find the damn thing now.

* MerchandiseDriven: A large sticker book using cells from the film was released at the time of the film's premiere. It is sadly today one of the few things that prove this film still exists.
* TheMockbuster: Averted; it was just a sad, sad coincidence that the film was released around the same time Disney released their version.

* ScoobyDooHoax: At one point, in an attempt to help Cinderella, the household servants pose as ghosts in an attempt to scare away the stepfamily
