** Website/NicoNicoDouga is rife of [=MADs=] or fake ED themes containing allusions to seiyuu's other works. For example, the ''Anime/CodeGeass'' version of the 1st ''Literature/{{Durarara}}'' ending had Shinra's place taken by Lelouch, and both were voiced by Creator/JunFukuyama.

** Creator/TetsuyaKakihara and Creator/KatsuyukiKonishi played BloodBrothers Simon and Kamina, respectively, from ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann''. Here, they play Natsu and Laxus, who are instead played up as rivals. What seals it is when Natsu delivers an inverse of Kamina's catchphrase to Laxus, "Who the hell do you think you are?!"

** In ''Manga/KomiCantCommunicate'', the protagonist's mother, Komi Shuuko, introduces herself as an "[[ReallySeventeenYearsOld Eternal 17-year-old]]".

* ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'': It's not the first time Creator/YuShimamura has voiced [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword a blonde girl who ends up encasing herself in crystal.]]
** Her character in ''Anime/GuiltyCrown'' has feelings for a boy played by Creator/YuukiKaji[[note]] Ambiguous in canon, but official parodies portray Annie as having feelings for Eren[[/note]], and likewise covers herself in crystal at one point.

* ''Webcomic/OnePunchMan'':
** There is a minor villain early on who is an [[Franchise/AttackOnTitan ordinary human who has been turned into a hulking giant]]. Naturally, the English dub got Creator/BrycePapenbrook to play him.
** Another English dub moment has Vaccine Man, who bears more than a slight resemblance to [[Franchise/DragonBall Piccolo]], voiced by Creator/ChristopherSabat.

** This is only one of the most subtle instances. The dub also includes someone claiming that Leo has a bigger ego than Creator/ChrisPatton, who plays Hajime; and then there's the episode in which, after a ghost's curse puts Satsuki's father (played by Creator/IllichGuardiola) in the hospital, the characters refer to him as "Illich" for the rest of the episode.

*** Sadly, this joke is lost in the dub, mainly because AIR was dubbed by Creator/{{ADV Films}}. And a general rule of thumb, you really can't use VA from California to do Texan anime dubs due to...''[[UsefulNotes/UnionsInHollywood legal reasons]]''.
*** Sora and Potato are voiced by Creator/VicMignogna and Creator/TiffanyGrant respectively in the English dub AIR (although the former does voice some minor characters in the Lucky Star dub).

** In the Alolan Motto, James mentions "A fallen angel that seeks revenge on this miserable world". Could this be a reference to another [[Anime/DragonBallSuper Shinichiro Miki]] character?

* In ''Anime/RahXephon'', Haruka introduces herself to Ayato as a "champion of justice". The phrase and [[Creator/AyaHisakawa voice actress]] both were in ''Manga/SailorMoon''. (she voices Ami)

In the dub, since he's voiced by Creator/MatthewMercer, who has done a cowboy character, [[VideoGame/{{Overwatch}} Cole Cassidy]], Jotaro ends up shortening the quote into Cassidy's CatchPhrase: "It's high noon."

** The battle of Ren (voiced by Creator/TomokazuSeki, Domon Kasshu from ''[[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam G Gundam]]'') and Kojūrō (Creator/NobuyukiHiyama, Guy Shishioh from ''Anime/GaoGaiGar'') in ''VisualNovel/TheyAreMyNobleMasters'' is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjTCmzVNYdM rife with this]], including Kojūrō [[HeyThatsMyLine stealing some of Ren's lines]]. The battle even ends on this note when [[spoiler:The Colonel suddenly appears and finishes off both with the CatchPhrase of Master Asia from ''[[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam G Gundam]]'', the two also have the same voice actor.]]

* In ''Anime/TransformersArmada'', Creator/DavidKaye as Megatron occasionally utters a smooth, drawn-out "yeessss", a reference to the CatchPhrase [[ThrowItIn he introduced]] when playing Megatron in ''WesternAnimation/BeastWars''.

* In the English dub of ''Anime/YokaiWatch'', Creator/JohnnyYongBosch, who also voiced Adam Park in ''Franchise/PowerRangers'', voices the main character, whose last name is Adams. And in the online-only dub recap episodes, Nate Adams has the CatchPhrase "It's recap time!", just like Adam Park.

* In ''Manga/GoodLuckGirl'', Momiji frequently imitates several anime characters. At one point she imitates Moka from ''Manga/RosarioPlusVampire''. Later on she also imitates Luffy from ''Manga/OnePiece''. The English dub takes an advantage of this allusion as Momiji is voiced by Creator/ColleenClinkenbeard, who also happens to be the English voice of both Moka[[note]]well Inner Moka that is, Momiji imitates Outer Moka instead who was voiced by Creator/AlexisTipton[[/note]] and Luffy. Hell, Clinkenbeard even uses her Luffy voice for the imitation.

* In ''Literature/ListenToMeGirlsIAmYourFather'', Junji Majima plays Shuntarou Sako, who demonstrates inappropriate attraction (for which he is [[PaperFanOfDoom punished]] [[UsefulNotes/TheHaysCode in-show]] and reviled by the audience, because [[AndThatsTerrible it's a bad thing)]] for Miu Takanashi, played by Creator/EriKitamura. And in what likely isn't a coincidence, Kitamura had earlier played a FilleFatale in a certain other show who was involved in a TeacherStudentRomance with Majima's character.

* In ''Anime/FateGrandCarnival'', Orion is often [[TheyKilledKennyAgain killed for the sake of a joke.]] This isn't a coincidence, considering that his voice actor, Creator/NobutoshiCanna, also voiced all but one version of the ButtMonkey of the prequel, Anime/CarnivalPhantasm, Cu Chulainn, who was similarly killed in every episode (and he still is in ''Grand Carnival'').

* Speaking of ''Anime/GaoGaiGar'' and Gai's VA Creator/NobuyukiHiyama, any time writers can find a way to make his character in another series say [[DisappearsIntoLight "hikari ni nare"]], they will. There's the ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'' example above (where his character also visually resembles [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Viral]]). The line also occurs in ''Moetan'', where Hiyama voices Karks, and in ''LightNovel/TheyAreMyNobleMasters'', where Hiyama's character gets into a duel with Creator/TomokazuSeki's character and the latter's [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Shining Finger]].

** In Episode 10 of Season 1, an intermission artwork shows Nagi dress up as Louise from ''LightNovel/TheFamiliarOfZero''.

* In ''LightNovel/InfiniteStratos'', [[Creator/KoukiUchiyama Ichika's]] duel against Rin has him posing and charging similar to Gundam Unicorn, a reference to the VA's role as Banagher Links.

** Creator/AyanaTaketatsu tends to attract these in general. In the anime adaptation of ''LightNovel/{{Oreimo}}'', she owns a DVD boxset of "Sis x Sis" and mentions as an aside that "little sisters should have [[Manga/KOn black hair and twin tails]]."

* In ''Literature/BakaAndTestSummonTheBeasts'', Akihisa Yoshii has a passion for video games, to the point that the former makes mention of becoming the "God of Conquest". This happens to be the InSeriesNickname of Keima Katsuragi from ''Manga/TheWorldGodOnlyKnows'' who is voiced by Creator/HiroShimono (who's also Akihisa's voice).

He also happens to be another DualWielding badass in the VRMMORPG called ''Manga/DotHackLegendOfTheTwilight''. Both games have really annoying admins and an AI encounter as well as a harem.

* Two of [[Creator/HiroShimono Hiro Shimono's]] characters are this to his role as Keima Katsuragi from ''Manga/TheWorldGodOnlyKnows'':
** There's Takuya Irei from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamUnicorn'' who, like Keima, is a [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent High School Student]] ''slash'' {{Otaku}} (for Mobile Suits, in particular) who later on became an AscendedFanboy upon becoming one of the ''[[CoolStarship Nahel Argama]]'''s mechanics

* Whoever cast ''Manga/BlackLagoon'' obviously didn't think mass-murdering CreepyTwins Hansel and Gretel were sufficiently creepy or distressing. No, they had to go and make Creator/TomokoKaneda, the VA of ''[[Manga/AzumangaDaioh Chiyo Mihama]]'' and countless other [[TheCutie cuties]] voice Gretel.

** Website/NicoNicoDouga is rife of [=MADs=] or fake ED themes containing allusions to seiyuu's other works. For example, the Code Geass version of the 1st Durarara ending had Shinra's place taken by Lelouch, and both were voiced by Creator/JunFukuyama.
* ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'' has one with April which is a combination of this, CaptainErsatz, and {{Expy}}. The character's Japanese voice actress dubs a lot of Creator/HalleBerry's roles, including that of Storm in the ''Film/XMenFilmSeries''. The character in the anime is a black woman with weather-control powers.
** Hei's voice actor also voiced [[Manga/{{Monster}} Tenma]], and in the TimeSkip between the two seasons, Hei mirrors him in going from clean-cut MrFanservice to sexiest hobo ever.
*** A dub-based one -- Creator/JohnSwasey, who voices Huang, voiced Gendo Ikari of ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion''. The relevance comes in at the end of the first season, with a scene that is clearly inspired by ''Evangelion'''s "[[GainaxEnding congratulations scene]]".

* In ''Manga/FoodWars'', Akira Hayama is voiced by Creator/JunichiSuwabe, who also voices another white haired black character from ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear'', Venom. Both has UndyingLoyalty towards the one who saved them. However, the different contrast is that Akira is not a gay like Venom.
** Before the announcement (later the release date) of the anime adaption, many fans has been expecting Suwabe as a perfect candidate to voice Hayama, not only because of some similar appearance like Venom, but also a smooth personality. Later, the official begun to think a same thing about Suwabe voices Akira, and thus, [[LamarckWasRight the fans was right]] about the theory after seeing Hayama's traits.

** In two cases of the original English dub of ''Manga/SailorMoon'', Kristen Bishop plays villainesses with ComedicSociopathy and really annoying laughs -- Zoycite and Emerald.
** In a case of the 2014 Creator/VizMedia re-dub: Creator/CristinaValenzuela, prior to being the voice of Rei Hino/Sailor Mars in the Viz dub, played another [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica magical girl who had black hair and purple eyes named Homura Akemi]].

** Chapter 64 of the manga has a scene where Hasegawa explains the ideal traits one needs to possess to be the female lead in a series. Episode 43 of the anime adapts this scene but has Hasegawa do the [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Gendo pose]] while speaking, since, like Gendo, he's voiced by Creator/FumihikoTachiki.

* In ''Anime/GurrenLagann'', Creator/MichelleRuff plays Yoko, a teenage sniper whose main weapon is a huge [[{{BFG}} Anti-Materiel Rifle]]. A few years later, in Season 2 of ''Anime/SwordArtOnline'', she goes on to play Sinon... a teenage sniper, whose main weapon is a huge Anti-Materiel rifle. The specifics are a bit different, though. The former is a FriendlySniper, while the latter is a ColdSniper. Their [[BuxomIsBetter endowments]] and hair colors are also in sharp contrast with one another.
** Speaking of Yoko, her seiyuu Creator/MarinaInoue provides the voice for Rei Miyamoto of ''Manga/HighschoolOfTheDead'', who has [[SniperRifle many]], [[GirlyBruiser many]], [[MsFanservice many]], [[TheLancer many]], [[PluckyGirl many]] traits in common with Yoko.

** In Episode 35, Maria cosplays as Suigintou from ''Manga/RozenMaiden''. It goes without saying they are both voiced by Creator/RieTanaka.

* ''Manga/KomiCantCommunicate'': The protagonist's mother, Komi Shuuko, introduces herself as an "[[ReallySeventeenYearsOld Eternal 17-year-old]]". In the anime, she's voiced by Creator/KikukoInoue, [[RunningGag who is also known for introducing herself as an "Eternal 17-year-old" in real life too]].

** ''VisualNovel/TheyAreMyNobleMasters'' has more of this in its {{Shout Out}}s -- in one parody-filled episode, the Creator/YukoGoto-voiced Miyu Kuonji uses a [[LightNovel/{{Shuffle}} box-cutter attack]] and a [[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya "Mirakuru Beam"]].

** A slightly (probably unintentional one) good example would be the episode where Sadaharu goes insane. They go to the baseball stadium to set up the two Miko sisters' trap and it's Mone's turn to catch the ball. She can't catch it but Gintoki dives and says EXACTLY [[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya "Make it. Make it. Make it! WHILE trying to catch the ball.]] Both Kyon and Gintoki are voiced by Creator/TomokazuSugita and it's interesting to note that LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya and ''Manga/{{Gintama}}'' aired almost at the same time only two days apart.

** Before this we saw Nagi's triple allusion attack on Sakuya as [[Manga/{{MAR}} Bell]], [[LightNovel/ShakuganNoShana Shana]], and [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Alphonse]] respectively.

** In Episode 3 of Rei, Rena had a ''LightNovel/MariaWatchesOverUs'' parody moment with her being Yumi and Miyo being Sachiko. Miyo and Sachiko share a seiyuu.

* Yuuichi, in the Creator/KyotoAnimation remake of ''VisualNovel/{{Kanon}}'', is played by Creator/TomokazuSugita. In one episode, he does a DeadpanSnarker narration monologue exactly in character as Kyon, Sugita Tomokazu's character from ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya''. It doesn't turn out to be just narration, though -- Kaori can hear him say it, and she's not amused. Again, just like Kyon. [[spoiler:The scene is actually in the original VisualNovel though, but nobody really cares.]]

* The anime adaptation of ''Anime/LuckyStar'' is, arguably, half-built on such heavy references. The most emblematic, however, is from Episode 16 -- when Konata Izumi cosplays at her cafe as LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya. Both characters are played by Creator/AyaHirano, who effortlessly slips back and forth into her Haruhi voice to take orders in the cafe. (In the English dub version Creator/WendeeLee tries this but can't seem to sound like she did back in 2007, this same thing happened with Creator/MichelleRuff as Nagato, although she sounds like herself again in the preview, the only character to sound like himself was Creator/CrispinFreeman's Kyon, probably due to the fact the dubbing was lazy in Volume 4, compared to the other volumes.)
** Konata is later (in Episode 24) bribed with a ticket for a handshake with the voice actress for Haruhi, thus resulting in Aya Hirano as Konata enthusing about [[CelebrityParadox meeting Aya Hirano]] "in person" for her work on ''[[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya]]''.
** Konata had previously attended a concert (''Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekisou'') with Aya Hirano (technically voicing herself with a ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya'' ImageSong recording) as one of the stars.

** And there's a wonderful in-joke in Episode 12, where at Comiket, characters played by [[Creator/TomokazuSugita Tomokazu]] "[[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya Kyon]]" [[Creator/TomokazuSugita Sugita]] and [[Creator/TomokazuSeki Tomokazu]] "[[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Sousuke]]" [[Creator/TomokazuSeki Seki]] manage to fight a MundaneMadeAwesome battle to sell a customer unsold merchandise... of their own respective characters. (Website/ThatOtherWiki claims that the two [=VAs=] have a rivalry, of sorts. That would explain the battle.)

* ''LightNovel/{{Oreimo}}'' displays some ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'' figures, a rare instance of actual otaku merch instead of parody versions, most likely as a reference to Creator/AyanaTaketatsu playing a middle-school girl who's in love with her older NotBloodSiblings [[BrotherSisterIncest brother]] in both.

** The 93rd ''Sun and Moon'' episode had a huge homage to Music/MegumiHayashibara via an ImagineSpot where Jessie is shown dressed as various characters Hayashbara voiced in the past. These include [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Rei Ayanami]], [[Anime/CowboyBebop Faye Valentine]], Anime/{{Paprika}}, [[Manga/CaseClosed Ai Haibara]], [[Manga/RanmaOneHalf Ranma Saotome]] and [[LightNovel/{{Slayers}} Lina Inverse]]. The dub managed to have one of its own for this episode when its current voice director, Creator/LisaOrtiz, voiced the Lina Inverse segment, being the English dub voice of Lina herself.

* Ever since Creator/RieKugimiya's appearance in ''LightNovel/ShakuganNoShana'', she has made the "Urusai Urusai Urusai!" line in some of the roles she has voiced afterwards (e.g. Louise in ''LightNovel/TheFamiliarOfZero'', Nagi in ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'', Taiga in ''LightNovel/{{Toradora}}'', Aria in ''LightNovel/AriaTheScarletAmmo'')

* In episode 11 of ''LightNovel/{{Slayers}}'', after using a whip-like spell Lina briefly poses in a dominatrix-like outfit and says "Call me queen", alluding to Creator/MegumiHayashibara also voicing Tira Misu in ''Manga/SorcererHunters''.
* In the first episode of ''LightNovel/{{Slayers}} NEXT'', Zelgadis scowls and utters "Omae o korosu" ("I'll kill you"), which is an iconic line belonging to ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Gundam Wing]]'''s Heero Yuy, also voiced by Creator/HikaruMidorikawa. Bonus points for Zelgadis saying the line to Lina, he only had to drop one syllable! And the same episode features a giant golem that's piloted like a mecha, though not by Zelgadis.

* Creator/BrycePapenbrook in the VRMMORPG ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'' happens to be a DualWielding badass by the name of Kazuto Kirigaya/ Kirito. He also happens to be another DualWielding badass in the VRMMORPG called ''Manga/DotHackLegendOfTheTwilight''. Both games have really annoying admins and an AI encounter as well as a harem.

** Akihisa Yoshii from ''LightNovel/BakaAndTestSummonTheBeasts'', who shares Keima's passion for video games, to the point that the former makes mention of becoming the "God of Conquest" -- one of the latter's {{In Series Nickname}}s.

** And there's a wonderful in-joke in Episode 12, where at Comiket, characters played by [[Creator/TomokazuSugita Tomokazu]] "[[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya Kyon]]" [[Creator/TomokazuSugita Sugita]] and [[Creator/TomokazuSeki Tomokazu]] "[[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Sousuke]]" [[Creator/TomokazuSeki Seki]] manage to fight a MundaneMadeAwesome battle to sell a customer unsold merchandise... of their own respective characters. (Wiki/ThatOtherWiki claims that the two [=VAs=] have a rivalry, of sorts. That would explain the battle.)

* In ''Anime/FateGrand Carnival'', Orion is often [[TheyKilledKennyAgain killed for the sake of a joke.]] This isn't a coincidence, considering that his voice actor, Creator/NobutoshiCanna, also voiced all but one version of the ButtMonkey of the prequel, Anime/CarnivalPhantasm, Cu Chulainn, who was similarly killed in every episode (and he still is in ''Grand Carnival'').
