Steel Beast 6 Beets: Good lord, whoever wrote this article truly hated DeJap's translation. I'm really considering doing some clean-up to make it less blatantly obvious.

EDIT: Done. I fail to understand all the fuss about DeJap's supposely "terrible" translation. What if they took some liberties with the script and scenes and did not offer a faithful localization? Big deal. I've meet several people who know these facts and guess what? They just don't care. They still prefer DeJap's job for nostalgia's sake. Or perhaps they just like the sex jokes. Who knows, really.

Cidolfas: Agreed here. In terms of quality it's easily more professional than many other "official" SNES translation jobs. One or two infamous scenes do not and should not cause ire against the quality of the translation. Although I might be biased, of course. ^^;

Rebochan: Anyone know why Namco USA hates this game so much? Four different versions and the only one we got wasn't even handled by them and was hands down the worst version, from a translation and technical standpoint. It just sucks that even now that a great PSP version exists, they're still sitting on their hands and they refuse to license the game so a publisher that actually gives a crap could translate it for them.

Seriously, I remember when the SNES version first came out and I've never understood why we always get screwed over on this game.

Marandahir: Even if the GBA made some poor translations, it sticks much closer to the original meanings and names, and the names on the page should be the official ones, NOT the fan translation names. So I went ahead and changed Cless Alvein to Cress Albane, Klarth F. Lester to Claus F. Lester, and Fang Wolf to Fen Beast. That should cover the only significant name differences between the deJap and the GBA. Not that I have anything against the De Jap version; but we should be giving the official and correct information, not fan information, EVEN though this is a fan-community wiki about tropes. We should at least be giving the real information when applicable. Maybe a note on the difference in names should be mentioned in the article, however. I realise that this is bait for fandumb beserkitude, but maybe those beserker-fans shouldn't be causing a fuss over these things in the first place?
