Kilyle: I really don't think that Phantom Of The Opera example was the writer trying for a rhyme. Repetition of words is a valid tool; this trope, like most rhyme tropes, is more about when a rhyme scheme is set up and not carried out properly. However, I think the example should stay, because it's useful to the discussion.
