Silent Hunter: This was originally in YKTTW, but vanished from there due to lack of responses. I proposed Pretty Little Headshots as a title and had no complaints.

Dark Sasami: Just some food for thought:

"Richie loved to use 22s because the bullets are small and they don't come out the other end like a 45, see, a 45 will blow a barn door out the back of your head and there's a lot of dry cleaning involved, but a 22 will just rattle around like Pac-Man until you're dead."

Would the remake of Dawn of the Dead be considered an exception? Or maybe just zombie films in general? --Document N
Removing:

  • Persona3 just manages to count, even though their guns aren't actually guns and the whole "shooting yourself in the head" thing is purely symbolic.

It doesn't really fit this trope, since there's no actual "gunshot" wound (or gunshot, for that matter).
Yoru No Grim: Would the shooting of Marvin in Pulp Fiction count as an aversion? They don't actually show Headless Marvin, but they do show a very messy result.
