Ironically, this was once named after a victim of said scam (David Xanatos; see below).

No Gargoyles examples are listed at all - can someone who knows the show better verify this?

Heroic Jay: Looks like it was deleted, though I can't say exactly when or by whom, as it's no longer in the history. The example of Xanatos being a victim is Thailog's introductory episode, where he plays multiple characters for fools (Xanatos included), fakes his own death, and gets away with a bunch of Xanatos's cash. The example was added (by me) when it was named "Xanatos Prank", so it was possibly removed because the trope got "Multiplayer" added to it? (Thailog's plan was a solo mission, but otherwise was very similar to the example at the top of the page.)

macroscopic: In that case I guess it makes more sense just to get rid of the note in the intro. I'm cutlisting Xanatos Prank anyway since no-one is using it.
