From YKTTW

Nate The Great: The actual quote involves a "blue-green planet." Couldn't we have green in the title, keeping the simpler one as a redirect?

Real Slim Shadowen: What the fuck is this shit? Oh, that's right. Natter. And not funny natter, either.

  • Since Star Wars is set in the past, its probably still there.
    • there being within the "galaxy far far away" and not being Earth. Possibly a Justified Trope because most viewers would have trouble relating to explicitly alien characters. And not making the humans from Earth avoids Scifi Writers have no sense of scale but still allows the Fairytale IN SPACE! setting description.
    • Simply because it's A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away... does not mean it actually takes place in the past...just before whatever "narrator" says that line...which could still be hundreds of millenia into the future.
    • Maybe some future generation ship will fall through a wormhole, warp to this distant past galaxy, and have founded a second previous human race?
    • Or perhaps the narrator is an eager teenager to whom a couple weeks prior would constitute as "a long time ago"...
