slb: What came to mind when I read the Trope Name was Rise of the Triad by Apogee. If you're smart, you can actually jump off a ledge onto an enemy trooper, and when you land on them, you'll just hear the sound of them being crippled by your weight, and they'll fall to a lifeless heap on the floor. Another example is River City Ransom, where (IIRC) jumping on top of a trash can or crate that an enemy is holding causes a loud "CRUNCH!" sound — I imagine, from the enemy's shins cracking from the weight. These aren't used to pass the impassable as the trope suggests though. Any idea what trope these examples might belong to?
