Intolerance counts. While he did write it to negate an interpretation of an earlier work, it wasn't an interpretation about an in-story status quo, but rather was the interpretation that he (and
Birth of a Nation) are racist.
(I think he
completely missed the point, anyway.
Intolerance says that intolerance based on religion, politics, and class is wrong—but it's silent about intolerance based on race.)
