From YKTTW Working Title: Less Eviler Than Thou

Wascally Wabbit: How is this distinct from Evil Versus Evil and Black-and-Grey Morality?

Flix: Because it covers bad guys on a generally-evil side who aren't evil, aren't Punch Clock Villains, and don't automatically pull Heel Face Turns? And aren't necessarily being pitted against their evil coworkers? Granted, when it's anti-hero versus villain it fits into Black And Grey, but this trope generally assumes there's a White side in there, too.

{{Aranis:}} I fleshed out the page, but I can't seem to get it to turn up on the Google Search for the site. Anyone know how this could be fixed?

Cidolfas: Really? Larg's side turned out better in FF Tactics? Let's do an inventory, shall we? On Larg's side we have:

  • Larg himself, who acts as the lord protector of an eight-year-old child in his bid to take over the kingdom, and kidnaps Ovelia but blames it on Goltana.
  • Dycedarg, who killed his own father, followed by Larg, then blamed that on Goltana. And then turned into a demon.
  • Marquis Elmdore, a demon in disguise.
  • Argath, a noble so irredeemably snotty and Jerkass that he was brought back again as a zombie just so the player can kill him a second time in the PSP port.
  • Delita himself, who started off as a Knight of the Northern Sky.
    • Aranis: Started out, sure, but he took Goltana's side in the conflict itself.
    • Aranis: Keep in mind that the hero's group also started out on Larg's side, so that might make them "good guys" by association.
  • Gaffgarion, a morale-less mercenary who does kidnapping and murder whenever asked.

And on Goltana's side we have:

  • Thunder God Cid, by far the nicest and noblest person in the entire game.
  • Goltana, admittedly not a very nice person, who also kidnaps Ovelia, forcing her to be queen, and has every intention of extending war past the point where the citizenry could afford it.
  • Anyone else?
    • Aranis: Yes. As said before, Delita. While the others were bad, to be sure, none of them stooped quite so low as to manipulate every last friend, acquaintance and ally he had ever made to achieve his goals, including his best friend.

Aranis: Still, though, you might have a point. I honestly seem to remember the game painting Larg's side in a more favorable light over Goltana's. Think that things should be changed around, or does Delita's presence on Goltana's side do enough to keep them on the "bad guys" side of the two main Lion War forces?
