These are recommendations made by Tropers for Warrior Cats fanfics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here.

You can also add to the current recommendations if you want. You can do it by expanding on the notes about the fanfic, or linking similar or related fanfics. Refrain from posting Conversation In The Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.

Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

''Kestrelflight's Slumber Party by Hopesplash
  • Recommended By [[Tropers/Lightflame Lightflame]]
  • Genre: Comedy
  • Synopsis: Kestrelflight wants to hold a Slumber party so Onestar recommends he get all the medicine cats. Kestrelflight gathers them all up (Jayfeather brings Lionblaze for protection) and Kestrelflight, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, Flametail and Willowshine have a slumber party. Hilarity Ensues.
  • Comments: Kestrelflight's Slumber Party is very long. You can read the entire thing up until now (helpfully posted by me) on page 40. This is pretty much the funniest warriors story ever, but if you aren't a fan of numerous Brick Jokes you might not want to read it.

Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the cast.

A Depth Of Naive by Blizz(Non-canon relationships is the only warning I can think of)
  • Recommended by Hexiva
  • Pairing(s): BlueXTiger
  • Synopsis: Bluestar angsts about her relationship with Tigerstar
  • Comments: Probably the best Warriors fanfic I've ever read - not that that's saying much, but it really is quite good.

Love You to Death by the Only Pancake
  • Recommended by Carnivorous M.
  • Pairing(s): Mainly AshfurxHollyleaf (here called Hollythorn); also contains HollyxMouse, LionxPoppy, and just a tad of HoneyxBirchfall.
  • Synopsis: Hollypaw/Ashfur darkfic! Written pre-Dark River. Ashfur never got over his lost love, Squirrelflight. He is willing to do anything to have a part of her back- even if that means tangling young Hollypaw in a web of hurt and fear. Can she escape his grasp?
  • Comments: Be warned, Love You to Death is very dark; it follows the twisted, obsessive, controlling relationship of a person who never really got over his first love interest and a— at the beginning, anyway— relatively naive apprentice who really wasn't entirely sure what she was getting herself into. It deals with the tragic consequences of playing with someone's heart, and not letting them really know whether you care about them or not until it's too late; it also deals with simply choosing someone because of a fleeting moment of infatuation, and why it generally doesn't end well. It also earns points for using rape as a proper plot device, and not just for cheap drama. The majority of it was written before Dark River came out, so all warrior names afterwards are different from the books; this doesn't detract too much from the experience, however, unless you're a stickler about that sort of thing. All in all a fantastic read, although I wouldn't read it if you only like happy endings.
    • The companion fic, Death Did Us Part, told from Ashfur's point of view, is currently in progress as well.

All That Was Lost by Nightfall Daybreak
  • Recommended by AquaBreaker
  • Pairing(s): Mainly revolves around Fire/Spotted, but also lightly touches on Fire/Cinder, Littlecloud/Cinderpelt, Raggedstar/Yellowfang, and Crow/Leaf
  • Synopsis: 'We are medicine cats. We give and we give and we give. After all we have lost, StarClan does not have the right to dictate the matters of our hearts.' Spottedleaf speaks out for all the medicine cats, challenging the rule that forbids them to love.
  • Comments: This isn't a mushy romance story, actually classed under angst. And there are some issues with the author's interpretation of canon, mainly the age difference between Spotted and the ThunderClan apprentices when Firestar arrived. However, it is the best attempt to date to ground Spottedleaf in an actual personality that's not up in the air, and is the best argument ever against forbidden love when it comes to medicine cats, and how it would prevent a lot of sneaking around and drama. Could also be viewed as an essay in support of allowing medicine cats to love, as I have seen it used on a couple occasions in the fandom as evidence against the rule. Whether you're looking for a somewhat emotional story, or another point of view to consider in a debate on romance in the fandom, give this a read.
