Fanfic On the other hand...
While I agree that this fanfic is well written and gripping, the premise of it is irrelevant to the story. Midoriya's quirk has no impact on the plot which follows manga to the letter. Midoriya's change of perspective is noticable and interesting but is doesn't change the fact that this is a retelling of canon material. Also Bakugou in this story is a lot more hateful and mean than in manga.
Fanfic The longer it's been, the better it gets
Initially, I didn't care much for this story once I finished it. Yeah, it's got some neat scenes and some one-liners that go incredibly hard (i.e. "I'm so scared... of what I'm going to do to you." or "Where's your doctor, All For One?") but from a practical perspective, by the end of the story it's largely "Canon+ Now With New Dialogue" as far as the first four seasons of MHA go. AFO is out of the way and Shigaraki is determined to stay evil. Anyone who died in canon is still dead, and those who didn't die in canon but did here are ones who were (presumed) completely out of the picture anyway so their deaths don't affect anything. But now, years later, I can really appreciate that killing All For One and Garaki removes the vast majority of the later problems: Gigantamachia, the PLF, Shiggy-For-One, AFO's refusal to just stay dead.
So overall, it's a fairly good story but it shines more when compared to canon than just on its own.
