Been playing a lot of Vampire Survivors on my Laptop lately, and I'm surprised that There's not a forum topic here, at least from what I could find.

I just unlocked Sammy and pumped him full of gold eggs thanks to Mc-coy being my second favorite character. I love how broken his Exp gain ability via money is, and this game is addicting as fuck.

TBH I find the game difficult to start up because I know if I start playing I'll blink and four hours will disappear.

That addicting huh?

Might look into this game myself.

It's a game with a very simple gameplay loop. Which means that it's very easy to lose yourself in it and realize that a lot of time has passed.

How do the four of us always descend on the same threads.

You know I think I've lost track of how many unlockable characters there are.

I think I have most of them. Maybe? How many are there?

I've lost like 2 hours at a time with it, lol.

Unlocking Endless Mode really allows for that.

I played until I had all the 'chievos. I go back whenever they add more. The last DLC has an easily exploitable infinite egg source, so some of my characters are both busted and difficult to play as since they drop my FPS to near nothing.

I've unlocked all of the achievements so far, including the DLC ones.

At this point I'm just wondering when we'll actually fight the Vampire.

I think I found it with Sammy, because if you give them the Arcana that allows your Greed to increase each level, you can farm money for eggs really easily.

Unless thats not what you're talking about.

No. Theres a secret area in the DLC zone with two walls that have to be unlocked. The bottom of the secret area spawns tiny egg dropping clowns endlessly.

I have characters with multiple thousand eggs as a result.

[up]x3 If we get more updates in the future, I kind of hope that we never fight the vampire just to keep the joke going. That, or the vampire turns out to be the final unlockable character...that you still never get to fight.

Oh hey, I was wondering when the thread for a game I've dumped 168 hours and going on would pop up. Stuff is just a time eater.

Or even better, the final boss is a real ghost. That the in-game encyclopedia still denies is a ghost.

Picked up the game a few weeks ago. Not a bad way to spend four euros.

The fact that the game was made by a guy who used to design slot machines really tickles me.

I feel like Poncle's experience in slots is the closest I can think of to a real life example of Bad Powers, Good People, cuz holy shit could he have made this game a gatcha nightmare and made a fortune off of what a serotonin dispenser it is, but he just took the brain-feel-good parts with none of the scum and made something great.

Isn't the boss of Eudomania implied to be the Vampire? Especially since it quotes Dracula's famous "But enough Talk, Have at you!" line? The credits roll after winning, too.

Saw Many A True Nerd play this game last year, thought it looked kind of fun, a good way to kill a few minutes, plus the thing was like five bucks. Spent the rest of that evening playing it, and the next couple of months hunting down every unlock, secret character, and Arcana card. Something about constantly leveling up during gameplay, occasionally hitting the jackpot with treasure chests, becoming so powerful your attacks kill your FPS, and having a whole list of things to do is just very satisfying.

I've recently been enjoying couch co-op on the Switch version. It's a very different game - you can't double up on weapons or accessories, so you have to coordinate your builds with your fellow players. Luckily, co-op has a "Pass" option on the level up screen to send your choices to the next player in the rotation, and indicators to let you know whether an item is necessary to evolve someone else's weapon. And then there are the moments you pick the Friendship Bracelet to give everyone a random level-up instead of picking the item you wanted that finally appeared.

It's buggy though, the boss of the Foscari DLC crashed the game both times we fought it in co-op, and only functioned properly in solo mode. And then there's how you can kind of run through walls and off the map into the void once things get crazy enough. Though I guess that'd be a Good Bad Bug, since we were all laughing the whole time.

Nah, that's the Directer [sic], and afterward they offer to take you to other worlds in search of the Vampire.

[up][up][up][up] Ha, that would explain why the chest animations are so very satisfying, especially the five-item one. Seeing the three beams go to five was pretty hype-generating, and it still hasn't gotten old :p

You motherfuckers made me lose ten hours in the last two days when you reminded me about this game.

Anyways, I'm wondering if the game needs a character sheet... Probably not, since there's only so much differentiating each character and none of them talk. On the other hand I want to see what people say about the guitar-playing rock succubus or the murderous and immobile tree.

I support the idea of a character sheet, it's just that there's supposedly a Vampire Survivors animated series coming out at some point, and I wasn't sure how best to prepare for that - having separate Characters/VampireSurvivorsGame and Characters/VampireSurvivorsSeries pages, having separate sections on the same character page, or what.

Sudden segue: if anyone's interested in learning more about how the game came to be, here's a documentary from Noclip. It has puppets. Well, a puppet.

I have the game on PC, though getting it on the Switch might be something to consider if you'd prefer to be able to play on the go.
