The strip is funny enough, I may check this out. It'll be interesting to see the comics Nate draws in animated form.
So, this is what Mitch Watson moved on to, huh. My brother liked the books, so he'll probably check this out.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Nick Animation is hiring for the series. Based on what's being described, it looks like the show, much like Mitch Watson's last 3 shows , will be in CGI.

Emily Brundige is the head writer. Some of the shows she's worked on include Harvey Girls Forever, Unikitty, Hilda, Home: Adventures With Tip And Oh, and DC Superhero Girls 2019. She also worked on the You Tube short Goldie and co-wrote Lego Scooby Doo Blowout Beach Bash.
Also, Jim Mortensen (Fairly Oddparents, Dawn Of The Croods, Trolls The Beat Goes On) is a producer.
A little difficult to picture, considering the comic's art style. I know it's a long shot, but I hope they use the same animation as the Peanuts and Captain Underpants movies.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Jim Mortensen screenshot this picture from a Variety article which showed a picture of one of the characters.

I have to admit, he does look a bit Gonk...
Thousand Dreamers, Watashi wa Saikyo, and Believe slap so hard.Yeah, not a fan of the eyes. They just don't mesh well with the rest of the more simplistic design.
Mitch Watson talks more about the show near the end (1:49:22) of this podcast. He mentions there's going to be a few horror-themed episodes.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Brandon Warren's twitter profile says he's working on the series. Some of the shows he's worked on include Robot And Monster, Penn Zero Part Time Hero, Robot And Monster, Future Worm, and Duck Tales 2017.
Idk about the eyes, I was totally averse to it at first, but I'm gonna actually see the show before I make any judgements.

I'm guessing the decision to delay the series was a last-minute one, if there's tons of merch already out and game shows already assume kids are familiar with it.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).In Africa, the show is coming out on Nickelodeon early next year. I assume a US premiere isn't too far away.

Any reason why it's coming out early there?

There's a Big Nate cartoon. Here's the description:
"Based on writer and cartoonist Lincoln Peirce's best-selling books, the animated series (ordered for 26 episodes) will center on the titular sixth-grader and his friends, with their adventures usually ending in disaster, detention or both. "With the greenlight of this show, Nate is getting one step closer to achieving true awesomeness," said Peirce. "I am thrilled to be collaborating with Nickelodeon on new adventures for this unlikely sixth-grade hero." Mitch Watson and John Cohen exec produce, with Peirce serving as consultant throughout development. "
