Apparently some people find it easier to copy-paste text from other sources, including Wikipedia or the creator's original site, instead of coming up with their own text.
However, this could get the website in a ton of legal trouble for plagiarism and/or copyright violations. (Not to mention it's lazy writing to boot.) Since stopping that problem is a very high priority, and I've observed multiple cases of this problem as of late, let's give this its own dedicated clean-up thread. If you see any work, character, or recap descriptions that copy another source word-for-word, bring them up here if you're not sure how to immediately fix them.
Moderator notice: If you cannot immediately rewrite plagiarized text, remove it and put in a placeholder note. A sample follows:
[This description was copied in violation of our [[Administrivia/AboutImagesAndCopyright Plagiarism]] policy. Please replace it with original writing.]
Below is a list of currently known pages that suffer from this problem, and the source they copy from. (This list can be updated by mods or by me, Totemic Hero.) The ideal goal is to have these pages fixed within a week or two of finding out about the copy-paste. If we can't manage to come up with a fix in that time frame, then we'll probably have to outright Cut List said pages, because the site can't risk legal issues.

I noticed the Germans Love David Hasselhoff example on YMMV.Elemental 2023 is copy-pasted from the film's Wikipedia page. How should we go about this?

All the recap pages for Secret Invasion (2023) have one sentence episode descriptions that are just the descriptions taken from Disney+.
Just removed the first two paragraphs from Medicated's description, because they were copied from the fic itself.
all descriptions wiped, and also sent the offender a notifier
The bulk of the text on the Alternate Continuity example on The Tom and Jerry Show (2014) was changed a few years ago to be plagiarized from a description of the show's plot on Wikipedia. The notice has been added to the page and a notifier has been sent.
"My job here is done." "But you didn't do anything."The work description for VideoGame.Bat Boy matches those found for the game on various digital storefronts, such as the Nintendo eShop and Xbox store.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever? The description for VideoGame.Magic Twins is at least partially plagiarized. The first paragraph is identical to the first paragraph on Steam and the developers' website, but with the last sentence removed.
Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license.I might rectify some of this soon but a lot of synopses on Recap.Centaurworld are copy-pasted from the official synopses.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I've noticed Land of the Lustrous's description STILL wasn't altered, so I've given it a shot.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI created a trope page for The Nameless City a few days ago, and since I had been struggling with how to describe the premise/plot of the novel without a lengthy explanation of the comic's lore, I ended up just copying the synopsis on the back of the first book without thinking about whether such a thing was allowed. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for ways I can summarize the series so that it's not an exact copy of the official synopsis?
Edit: I did some brainstorming and came up with a more original summary, but if there's any part of it that still needs work, please feel free to let me know.

Fate/Samurai Remnant is out and several other Fandom pages have unleashed the identities of the new Servants. However, I'm not sure if that can be called 'legitimate source'. I tried to add the Servant identities, then I realized this topic exists.
Sooo... still too early? Or they can be added now? Just to be safe, I decided to just undo my own edits for the time being. (The commented paragraph led me here)

While browsing through random works, I've noticed that the film Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank has its main description consist of parts directly taken from the work's Wikipedia page, word for word.
If you read the title for this avatar, you likely read it wrong. Not sure if this is relevant or should be mentioned, but...
Gamicus fandom have a sub-section dedicated to Eastern Exorcist, as seen here, whose images (and small parts of the text) are "borrowed" from Characters.Eastern Exorcist (!!!)
Just to clarify, I'm the one who made the Characters sub-page, wrote the articles and trope list, and took the screenshots (check the dates of the edit history) - in any case, gamicus is the one copying stuff from us, not the way around

I brought up MadMaze a while back, but it never got addressed. Actually comparing to the Wikipedia article, it looks like only the first paragraph of our page was actually copied (and then slightly rephrased, but still identifiably plagiarism), so I removed that for now.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. It looks like the description of Legend of Himiko was plagiarized from Wikipedia twelve years ago (Archived edit history of our page; compare with the Wikipedia page in 2006), the adding troper was banned years ago.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe Fanfic.Fell Horizon description is a complete plagiarism of the AO3 description:
Or, Alear still has her memories when she wakes up.
Fell Horizon can be read here. (This is the only original part)

Someone else has flagged this on the Haiku clean-up thread: Haiku.Final Fantasy XIV
It openly links to another website which had a fanwork haiku contest, which is where the haikus come from. No permission to repost is cited.
I just wanted to double-check that the page can be cut for these reasons. It's certainly copy-pasting someone else's work, but it's also fanwork, so I don't know where we stand on that. My instinct was to suggest removing it, since I think it's still a form of plagiarising, but I wanted to double-check.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Shadow of the Conqueror's description is taken wholecloth from the book jacket.
Not sure what to do since I'm not reading that and I doubt anyone else wants to either.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Just replace it with the placeholder text.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIf no-one objects, I'll send the page to the cut list for containing copy-paste information from other sites.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. With the reasons you mentioned, I support cutting it.
No child should have to think of selling medication for food. Are you afraid? On the page for El Chavo Animado, the entries under Bowdlerise and Cultural Translation seem to be copied verbatim from an an older version of the Wikipedia page for the show. While the version on our page is shorter and missing a bunch of stuff from the Wikipedia edit version, what is found here is basically identical, complete with grammatical errors copied verbatim.
The best character is always the one-shot disguise.
I think the Miraculous fandom might not know that we don't copy/paste fic summaries, cause FanficRecs.Miraculous Ladybug just got two of them...
When we get time, we're gonna have to go through and purge all the copied text. there's so much of it...
