It’s good for them, but the industry in general needs new productions. And Checkered Past is kinda for the older crowd.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Speaking of which, nobody told me that they were showing Cow and Chicken and I Am Weasel again...
Now how about Johnny Bravo? Maybe they could unearth some of the rarer shows like Mike, Lu and Og or Time Squad?

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."The thing is, you get far more adults watching cable than kids nowadays, and Cartoon Network is gradually waking up to that fact. Cable as a whole is on the decline, but Millennials are probably the youngest generation still keeping it alive. So if Cartoon Network is going to remain relevant in the near future, it's going to have to accept the fact that kids, for the most part, don't watch as much TV as they used to. That's why a lot of stuff that probably would have aired on daytime Cartoon Network ten or fifteen years ago is now being put on Adult Swim.
The studios and networks are probably gonna have to think of a long term plan to adapt for when cable dies out. But that’s for another thread.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Probably worse for other Warner owned channels like Boomerang and Discovery Family since they are premium and not basic cable.
I hate how badly Cartoon Network has ended up despite its still massive popularity on the internet (Total Drama, Scooby-Doo, Teen Titans, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, Powerpuff Girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Steven Universe). It's appalling how badly David Zaslav has made this cable channel among other victims of his craft to the point now I view 90% of fan content from WBD IPs with disdain. This apply to DC Comics too.

"Some people are damaged. Some people are really damaged. And then... some people are broken."How likely is it that they'd ever shut down Cartoon Network, Discovery Family, and Boomerang (the three main Warner owned channels) and moved the little original programming in production left on to HBO Max?

Super unlikely
New theme music also a boxWay back in the day, The Powerpuff Girls (1998) had a promotion with AirHeads candy with limited-edition flavors. Unfortunately around the time those came out, I had gotten braces, and therefore couldn't eat them.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.Speaking of tie-ins, I'm surprised that aside from a Scooby Doo cereal, they never made any cereals based off of Cartoon Network shows. There was a contest back in 2001 to choose one (Dexter's Lab won), but the cereal was never made. And you'd think around the Cn renaissance of the 2010s you'd see cereal or snack (or even drink) tie-ins for stuff like Regular Show, Adventure Time, Gumball, Steven Universe, et al, but no tie-ins.
The trend of cartoon tie-in food products seems to have died off in general. The only ones I still see are stuff like Paw Patrol and movie characters like Minions.
Compare that to the 90s when SUPER obscure cartoons like Space Goofs had a pasta line.
I'm still disappointed they never made real life Cookie Cats.
Or a real life Rig Juice energy drink.
Across the Spider-Verse and TMMT Mutant Mayhem both had tie-in cereals (I tried both, they weren't bad), so it's not completely died off.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonAdult Swim tweeted that Smiling Friends is coming back next Sunday night. Many people have pointed out that day is March 31, which is when Adult Swim does their April Fools prank.
Any predictions for what prank they'll go with this year?
Putting Toonami on Sundays?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Airing their block for the entire day.
Fear it... or not.All of the episodes of their shows on that night will be re-enacted with sock puppets.
Airing their normal lineup (aside from the Smiling Friends premeire) in a small box in the corner of the screen while both ATHF movies play.
All the guy voices will be by girls and all the girl voices will be by guys?
How have CN’s ratings been the last few years?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.terrible.
New theme music also a boxDon’t know why I asked.
How about adult swim?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Adult Swim's ratings are better than the rest of the channel.
It's no surprise to me, kids in 2024 aren't watching cable anymore. They prefer Youtube videos or streaming services. All of the kid channels' ratings are in decline, it's not just CN.
Ah.
Then I have to ask this: why not just take all the content and put it on YouTube so kids will actually have a better chance of watching Craig of the Creek and what not?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
Doesn't Cartoon Network currently have the Checkered Past block where they were showing their older shows after how much the mid-late 2010s era neglected that (with them doing nothing for their 25th anniversary)? Isn't that helping a bit?
