Yeah, it does look better…
Still, this movie has to do better narratively. I remember this was the last time my mom went to the theater and I’m pretty sure it’s gonna take a lot to get her there again.
Realistically, how is this gonna fare against Sonic 3?

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I imagine a lot of people will go to Sonic 3 specifically to spite Mufasa, but both of them will get a shitton of money either way.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. They still haven't learned their lesson with the facial animation. Real lions still emote more than the CGI lions in that trailer.
The trailer was to me,more of the same
New theme music also a boxThey’re at least trying, but it still seems a bit stiff in places.
Also, WERE TIMON AND PUMBAA FIGHTING SCAR?

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I mean, a lot of people are claiming they're gonna boycott Sonic 3 because of James Marsden, but I don't know if that's just a Vocal Minority.
Also, I can't get over how the title literally translates to King: The Lion King.
Like... that's on the same level as Manos: The Hands Of Fate
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationI suspect that the Marsden controversy will have died down by December, meaning the question becomes will one movie move out of the way of the other, will they consume each other at the box office, or will there be like a Barbenheimer scenario?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.what Marsden controversy?
Marsden apparently wrote a letter of defense for Brian Peck when the guy was accused of sexual abuse towards children. He hasn’t recanted yet.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Back when Drake Bell was a squeaky-clean star, news of him getting sexually harassed prompted a big letter of support among many actors, which included Mardsen.
Of course, issues would crop up when Drake Bell would get entagled in controversy over sexually grooming a minor who was a fan of his, and ever since the verdict, most actors withdrew their support for the letter, yet Mardsen hasn't done so.
At least from what I have heard.
Ah oof.
With that said I'm pretty sure the movie fans wouldn't care.
...and man I was right that the trailer did nothing for me.

You know, for someone who is famous for having his nose grow when he lies, Pinocchio really doesn't lie all that much at all in his movie. It happens, like, one time.
Optimism is a duty. It's like how Belle always wears her yellow ballgown in all the marketing/merchandising for the film...but she only wears it during one scene. Although I seem to remember pre-Disney Princess line merchandising of the movie having her in her blue and white outfit she wears for most of the movie.
This said, it's a scene executed so gloriously well, it's ingrained a mental picture that this specific iteration of the Pinocchio character is just so... awful at lying. The Shrek iteration lying far more often might also have something to do with it.
Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...Indeed, they sure made that one count. I mean, his nose generates a bird's nest, hatching eggs and all. At least the birds flee before the Blue Fairy gets to undo it.
Huh, Pinocchio's lies generated life. That sure is interesting.
Optimism is a duty. Both The Adventures of Pinocchio (1996) and Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022) integrate the "nose growing due to a lie" plot element into the film's climax, as the characters try to escape the Dogfish's belly using Pinocchio's growing nose. It's even the exact same lie: Pinocchio telling Geppetto that he hates him.
x3 Soooo... the real moral is "Only lie if your good at it?"

I think only lie when you ABSOLUTELY need to is better.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.lie in your bed,lie in your grave but don't lie to the people in front of you!
New theme music also a boxShrek also somehow made lying important.
But the lie in Shrek 2 was about not wearing women's underwear.
Well, more about how Pinocchio lying helped save Shrek.
x7 So did Geppetto with Drew Carey, but given that it's only known nowadays for being the butt of jokes on Whose Line, you would be forgiven for overlooking it...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."oh yeah there was that Pinocchio 1996 live action with a creepy doll
I know the Lion King remake is a favored punching bag but the environments do look a lot less washed out this time.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.
