Stopmotion Chess
(13/12/2009) is Exactly What It Says on the Tin. It was made by Brandon Dennett and posted on YouTube. It is about the black and white armies fighting each other in a form of chess and the victor can claim the land as their own. A remixed version can be watched here.
Tropes
- Adapted Out: The Distant Prologue what explains the black and white armies fought each other for seven years is removed in the remixed version so the two armies start to just attack each other for no reason.
- Big "SHUT UP!": Black King yells "SILENCE!" to White King after White King cut Black King's speech off.
- Distant Prologue: In the beginning of the video a text tells us the black and white armies fought each other seven years ago.
- Repeated for Emphasis: Parodied with the "legendary" word in the Distant Prologue text.
- Shout-Out:
- Trigun soundtrack is used.
- White King promises whoever defeats Black King will get to go to Chuck E. Cheese.
- Mario sound effects are used.
- WALL•E shows up to pick up a dead white pawn.
- When Black King gets check he says "You're despicable!" and the White Knight replies with "Oh I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?"
- South Park and Futurama sound effects are used in the remixed version.
