Ya know, reading comments on crunchy roll for episodes is annoying because it kinda makes me think average viewer isn't aware of common trends of light novels or light novel adaptations tongue

But yeah uh... This show is embarassingly anime huh. "There will be only left dust and memories", "I'll bear all your sorrow", there are lot of uh... Lines and cheesy oneliners that I could swear I've heard word to word elsewhere. Like lot of this show is typical anime tropes played straight huh. Still though, I could swear lot of the more melodramatic lines are something I've heard also from chuunibyo characters. Also like, all the skimpy outfits with even skimpier evil outfits... I somehow didn't expect show to be this cheesy. Still its enjoyable and dating sim parody element is kinda funny idea.

I mean if you didn't expect this show to be cheesy and weeb-y from episode one of season one then your eyes need to get checked.

Season 1 isn't on crunchyroll so I went blind from season 2 onwards [lol]

And there is difference between "this seems like anime" and "wow so this is what non anime fans think anime is like" x'D Like I was expecting the usual harem tropes, but this show went beyond even what I was expecting

I'm most genuinely surprised about how show is genuinely funny at times, and not just "ha. ha. this is supposed to be funny, laugh at the joke you have seen in every anime so far"

S5E2: Oh, we’re still in the prelude. Dang it, I was hoping to get to the full-blown war already.

Okay, Yuzuru, Miku and Nia trolling Kaguya in the erotic-sounding word game was funny. Now only if Origami had joined.

S5E3: Good luck with DEM trying to match the might of ten Spirits, plus the guy who can use all their powers. Utterly hilarious how Shidou can take out Nibelcole with flying kisses. Would not have expected, and yet should have expected, that to be the primary firepower of Ratatoskr for this episode haha. Flying kisses aside, everyone had a scene or two for flaunting their skills. Mukuro’s key is still busted. Loving the pandemonium. Especially that last scene. I think that’s the Spirit of Origin? I didn’t really pay much attention to previous seasons…

S5E4: Wait a damn minute.

What is Shidou to Reine?! Her son-slash-reincarnated-lover? Mana's friend also seemed to basically be Kotori. Hope we get more explanation on that.

Spoilered for those who don't want to see.

Mana's friend is Kotori's mom Haruka Itsuka as revealed in Date A Live Encore 10.

S5E5: Okay, so we’ve further confirmed that Reine is the Phantom, the Spirit of Origin, Shidou’s past lover and now mother, who agains wants to be his lover. To the point she turned innocent girls into Spirits, so she could harvest their Sephira later. Also means she got her son-slash-lover to date other women in front of her. This just gets weirder the more I talk about it.

Kurumi and Kaguya dead. I’d be more shocked if I wasn’t convinced Shidou is gonna reverse things somehow. For now, though, Shidou has Westcott to deal with.

S3E6: So Westcott is basically discount Kiritsugu. Unfortunately we don’t get to see Shido whooping his butt, as we instead have to watch Mio curbstomp the Spirits. No way the deaths are gonna stick, I have to repeat, but she definitely is gonna be tough to beat.
