Under Open Secret, Dokibird is outright described as previously being Selen Tatsuki (and mentioned as the Ur-Example of when an open secret like a Previous Life is just thrown out). I notice that Sayu Sincronisity isn't mentioned and I thought about adding her to that section, but I'm not sure if in her case she's explicitly identified herself as Zaion.

Like with the Dokibird example, the time when the Selen mods rebelled and straight up linked to Dokibird's Youtube page was mentioned, but I'm not sure if Sayu has similarly straight up said that she used to be Zaion.

For reference, Pomu is mentioned but her current identity isn't given, while Matara, Michi and Kuro are mentioned but not who they were previously (only being described as "previously working at another agency").

Doki's is very much a straight forward example.

Sayu's... case is a bit different

Originally Zaion was refered to as Sayu's Friend and Sayu still goes back and forth on referring to herself and referring to Zaion in the third person

She's gotten more and more leaning toward herself lately and less Zaion is someone else

like her Lore Vid specifically links her three personas together...

Would something like "Before the Selen/ Dokibird affair occurred, a similar fate befell Zaion Lan Za where she was unceremoniously terminated from Nijisanji. While Selen went back to her old identity of Dokibird, Zaion took a different tack and created a brand new identity Sayu Sincronisity (which called back to her original PL while also adopting features from her Zaion model and persona)" be alright?

I do feel that in Sayu's case, her identity as Zaion was as important to her (in regards to PL as an open secret) as Selen is to Dokibird. It feels like in their cases, both the corporate and their current identities is pretty important because it tied in to what happened to them, yes?

I feel like the people that care about Zaion are mostly distinct from the people that actually watch Sayu? A lot of the discussion about Zaion has very little to do with the actual reality of the person, and she's seen remarkably little sub growth from all of this despite notionally being a major figure in it. And Zaion wasn't really around long enough to have much carry over from her

I'm admittedly not familiar enough with the situation to know for sure, but I do at least remember some people commenting that it would be totally understandable if Zaion/Sayu was at least a little bitter at how much support Selen/ Dokibird got compared to her (while also acknowledging that, like you said, Selen had been around longer and had a lot more connections).

I was just wondering about whether it would be appropriate to mention Sayu if mentioning Zaion or Zaion if mentioning Sayu, or whether it would be better to be vague like the cases with Henya, Kson, Pomu and Matara.

Considering Selen stayed way longer than Zaion, then its logical that Selen is more beloved of a figure than how relatively short Zaion was. Took Selen’s termination to vindicate Zaion being thrown under the bus, regardless of her questionable moments. Like it or not, Dokibird really saved Sayu.

Plus, I feel like festering on jealousy is a mood perpetuated by Niji than normal behavior someone would feel going by how Selen was treated

And of course its appropriate. We all know who is an ex-niji here, they actually rely on that for their new followings. But the vtubers themselves are contractually bounded to not acknowledge their agency past life, which is why their statements purposefully avoid name dropping

Ah! Apologies, I fear I wasn't clear with what I meant.

I was specifically asking if I wanted to add information about Sayu/ Zaion under Open Secret, would it be more appropriate to go:

a) "Sayu who was formerly Zaion" (since her situation was similar to Selen's in particular since she also released a statement concerning her treatment)

or

b) "Sayu who was formerly employed at a well-known agency" like is done with Pomu, Henya or Matara (since IIRC the statement Sayu released was more like one of those "asking for a friend"-style things).

So to clarify, our policy is to not explicitly acknowledge vtuber PL stuff anywhere on the wiki, unless, like Dokibird or Monarch, they themselves are open about it?

So if, say, I put a Retroactive Recognition entry on Sword Art Online Abridged's YMMV page for Griselda's voice actress, Caitlin Myers, later becoming Nerissa Ravencroft, that wouldn't be allowed, even it's put under spoilertags? Or if somebody made a music creator page for Demondice, they wouldn't be allowed to mention Calli anywhere on it?

Honestly, I feel like it varies from tuber to tuber. I don't know that one solution fits all.

So Idol's web store had a major oopsie and revealed the second and third members of their upcoming ENCORE gen, with the gen as a whole having their debuts at around 1700 EDT tommorrow. To get everyone up to speed, this gen is kinda significant because aside from Enya Ignis (the first member, who is explicitly a rebrand of an existing v-tuber, whose identity will be revealed during her debut stream), the other two members are joining directly with their existing identities. They are

Chikafuji Lisa, originally from Tsunderia, has been indie since its shutdown.

and

Shabel Tonya, a Smilodon girl drawn by Ayamy (Yozora Mel's artist). Originally from a Korean corp called LIT Media, went indie after the corp folded.
